Ever since I was a child, my mother was overprotective. She used to be constantly worried about something, any time I asked she told me it was the dangerous gangs that have gained power each passing day. But there was something else, a deeper fear.

I stirred and gently opened my eyes. Expecting to see my familiar surroundings of my bedroom, I was instead met with the unfamiliarity of a different room.

I shot up and instantly pain shot up my arms. I looked down and noticed the handcuffs and shackles. Panic instantly courses through my veins as I tugged on them.

Tears whelmed up as I realised that they weren't coming off.

That was when I noticed the man sitting at the far corner of the room on the sofa. It was shadowy which hid his face from me. But I could tell me was watching me.

"Please don't hurt me.." I begged. When he didn't reply a sob left my lips. "Please.. I-I just want to go home."

As he stood up, it left as if my heart leapt out of my chest in fear. Striking blue eyes that oddly looked like my own stared into mine.

"Do you know who I am?" He had a deep voice, it was not rough yet not gentle either.

When I shook my head he snickered.

"Of course she wouldn't tell you."

I was confused, what was he going on about? I watched as he stepped forward now fully out of the shadow. He was wearing a suit and his entire presence screamed power.

"My name is Liam Castello."

My eyes nearly fell out of my sockets as his name left his lips. Castello.. they were the leaders of one of the most powerful gangs, they were called The Circle. They were merciless, cruel and dangerous. My mother told me they were taught to do the worst kinds of acts at a young age to help prepare them to be part of The Circle.

"From your expression, you probably know who I am." He smirked. He sat down at the edge of my bed and placed his hand on my foot and gave it a tight squeeze. Fear overwhelmed my body as I let a squeak out before nodding.

"Why am I here?" I worked enough courage to ask.

"Well, ever since I heard about a woman named Meredith Shepherd," he snarled at my mother's last name. "I got curious. Because well you see, my mother's name was Meredith.."

Oh please.. no no.. tell me it isn't what I'm thinking. I thought to myself as he continued the story.

"Who escaped the same time as you were born. I did some research, found a Meredith Shepherd with one child. A daughter." He pointed at me, his blue eyes shifted and then shifted back to me. "Long story short, turns out your mother Meredith is my mother Meredith."

I shook my head letting the tears flow down my cheeks. This cannot be happening. This is not happening.

"You've got it wrong. My mother.. she didn't have another child.. she- she told me she escaped from an unfaithful relationship." I cried.

"The bitch lies," he shrugged casually. "When she escaped my father and left me. She got a new last name; Shepherd. Got a nice little house for herself and had you. Twisted up some nice little lies to keep you hidden from the truth of her past."

"Who is my father?" I whispered.

"Greyson Castello. He's dead by the way," Liam smirked. "Killed the bastard myself." I choked when those words left his lips.

"Y-you killed him?"

"You won't understand." He seethed and stood up, "he was a terrible man. Abused me every second of each day! Blaming me for the fact Meredith left him!"

"This cannot be happening.." I exhaled a shaky breath. I gasped when cold fingers roughly forced my chin up. I met Liam's eyes.

"You're my sister and your last name isn't Shepherd." He spat, "it's Castello. You belong to one of the most powerful groups in the world. Your lying bitch of a mother separated you from our family."

"No!" I screamed. "No! No! No!" I continuously yelled. Liam stood there with an amused expression. "You're not my family! I will never belong to a murderous psychopathic group!"

"Your name is Olivia Castello."
