"Miles!" Naomi exclaimed.
"Nay," Nathan drawled with an arm slung over Jazzy's shoulders, "We're too tired to do anything else and you have more energy than all of us combined." Naomi's eyes narrowed at all the members as they began gathering their stuff. Even Lodico was long gone and the security guard that was left in charge was restless.
"Okay, sure. Meeting adjourned, I'll just finish the rest myself." Naomi muttered.
"Hey, you're gonna be okay right? I mean I would stay but I've got tons of homework and I'm beat." Miles said as he approached her, shrugging his backpack on his back.
"Yea, I'll be fine." Naomi assured, though she knew it was a lie. There was no way she would get all the work done by herself.
"You okay walking home alone?" Miles asked with concern, leaning in to kiss her temple.
Naomi was just about to reply when Darryl cut in, "She won't be alone. I'll walk her, and I'm staying behind to help her."
Naomi and Miles tossed a glare in his direction. Ahhh! Why me?! "I don't need you to walk me or help me. I'll be fine." Naomi said sternly.
"Sure." Darryl said sarcastically. Naomi glanced back at Miles, noting that his glare was smoothing out.
"No, Nay. I think you should let him." Miles said thoughtfully, though it seemed as if the words were visibly hard for him to say.
"What is wrong with you?" Naomi asked in disbelief.
"I'd feel better that he walks you, rather than you walking alone late at night. I mean he lives right there. And plus this could an opportunity to work on that science project a lil before you leave."
"Yea, science project." Darryl chimed with a smile filled with humor. Naomi glared at him again. Why is my own boyfriend throwing me to the wolves?
"So listen here, Darryl. You're sole job is to do whatever you have to do here, drop her home and high-tail your ass home. Got it?"
"No problem, sir, I'll have your daughter home by ten o'clock." Darryl mocked as he shook Miles's hand and tugged Naomi to his side.
"I'm serious, Adams. If you fuck up, you're dead." he warned before he gave Naomi a long and passionate kiss and followed the rest of the crowd out the exit.
Naomi cleared her throat as she pried from his grip on her waist, "Well we have work to do so let's just get this done."
Forty minutes passed and they were making progress. The last of the decoration boxes were marked and ready to ship to the hotel. Naomi noticed that he was unusually quiet, but she wasn't going to complain. He had resolved many of the issues the members had came to her with and was somewhat glad he was here to help. Though she wasn't going to let by-gones be by-gones and still chose to hold her grudge against him.
"So what's the real reason you stayed behind?" she asked breaking the silence between them as she moved onto the next task, "Did you wanna ask more personal questions about my life or is it because you were curious about what sex on a stage would be like?" Naomi asked sarcastically as she sauntered over to his working area.
She watched as he gave a thoughtful look toward the stage and back, "Not a bad idea. Are you starting to fantasize about me, baby?" Darryl said with a mocking raised brow and a lick of his lips. She gave him the finger and continued to sort through the papers he was working at that gave them certain rules of what was to be set up where.
"You should really stop doing that."
"Stop doing what?" Darryl asked innocently.
"Stop licking your lips the way you do."
