the name Diamond is a reference to ATUS (And The Universe Shifts) because in that book Grian's watcher name is Diamond :3
When he first came to hermitcraft, he would respond to the word diamond. Others thought it was because he liked diamonds and wanted to eavesdrop, when in reality he was simply responding to his old name.
He still owns his mask, his cape, his staff, but he doesn't use them. They're stored in a shulker box that is always kept in his inventory.
