Gemma woke late.

After Irvn had left, she’d showered, then laid awake for some time replaying the experience in her head.

What woke her now was her communicator warbling. It was Amisha.

“Hey, neighbour, are you awake?” Amisha’s face grinned at her from the small screen.

“I am now.”

“Well, Teacher,  you’re late for morning assembly. The rest of us have already started breakfast.”

“Sorry,” said Gemma, “bit of a restless night. I’ll be along in a moment.”

“Actually, I’m outside your door. Let me in and I’ll wait for you.”

Gemma swiped the door pad and Amisha stepped in, grinning.

“You should see how big Mars looks today - about three times bigger than the biggest full moon you ever saw.”

Amisha swept her eyes over Gemma’s small bedroom.

“Identical to mine,” she said, ”just wanted to check nobody was getting a better class of accommodation.”

“Quick shower and I’ll be right out,” said Gemma, stepping through into the second room. “Grab a seat.”

The instant the words were out, Gemma realised her mistake. There, on the low table stood the empty bottle of Sauvignon and two glasses. She tried to place her body between Amisha and the table, but it was too late: Amisha had already spotted the evidence.

“Hello,” said Amisha sweetly, picking up the bottle, “what have we here? And not one, but two empty glasses. Now unless you were somehow abducted from Duty Free - call it a wild guess - but I’d say you’ve had a visitor…?”

Gemma blushed. “I can explain…” she started.

“Don’t explain to me,” said Amisha mischievously, “this is far too delicious to be wasted on one person: this needs to be shared. You can tell us all over your cornflakes. See you there.”

With a smile and a wave, Amisha turned on her heel and left. Sighing, Gemma dropped her clothes and stepped into the shower.

A short while later, feeling more than a little apprehensive she found the others in the Galley. The Aliens were nowhere to be seen.

“Hi Girls,” she said.

“Hi Gemma.”

She helped herself to some muesli, glancing over at Amisha who was wearing a look of angelic innocence . Gemma was just raising her spoon to her mouth, when - with a big grin - Amisha said:

“Gemma, has something she’d like to share.”

Gemma put down her spoon and looked at the others who were all staring at her expectantly.

So she told them.

To begin with they listened in silence. But as she did her best to describe the sensation, there were frequent gasps, the occasional OMG and some biting of lips.

“So let’s get this straight,” said Laura, when Gemma had finished. “All you did was hold hands?”

“Yes. Nothing else. Promise.”

“I felt quite a buzz when Matias held my hands,” said Kate, “but nothing like what you’ve just described. Maybe because we only touched for a few seconds.”

“I guess it depends how deep you go,” said Gemma, “Irvn said they can control it.”

“So you say it was like you swapped roles?” asked Amisha, “Like you became him - and he became you?”

“Yes,” said Gemma.

“How weird is that!” said Laura.

“Incredibly,” said Gemma, “for a moment, it was if I was looking at myself…feeling myself… through him.”

“This is too much,” said Kate.

“So tell,” said Laura, “what’s it like to be a man?”

Gemma thought about this for a second.

“Exactly the same…but…totally, totally different.”

“I think you may have lost me there,” said Amisha.

“It’s like we see and think the same things, but from a completely different angle and in a completely different way.”

“We know that,” said Kate.

“Yes,” said Gemma, “but it’s more complex than that.”

They fell silent for a moment.

“I have just one very profound question…” said Amisha.

“…which is?”

“You say it was like you became him for a while?”

“Yes.”

“Sooo - ” said Amisha, “how does it feel to have a willy?”
