Quickly pulled into a nearby park, Tom tries to keep up with his energetic dog Tessa.

"Tessa?! Where are you taking me?" Tom laughs as people around him stare at a dog pulling its owner along.

After a whole lap around the large park, Tessa calms down and plops herself on the ground in the middle of the trail.

"Oh, so NOW you're tired," Tom says to her, "Well then, I think you deserve a treat."

Tom pulls out some doggy treats for Tessa, when he hears someone arguing to themself. Tessa hears the same thing because she follows the sound of the voice far away from Tom. The latter follows her, to find a young girl on the phone, upset.

"What do you mean you're breaking up with me?!" The girl questions, quickly wiping away tears from her bloodshot eyes, "We've been together for—"

There was a pause, as whoever she was talking to interrupted her.

"You know what? Be with the bitch! I'm sick and tired of trying to make things better. Trying to find a way to make this relationship work, but I guess you could care less about it!"

The girl hangs up and wipes away more tears that made their way down her face. Tom watches as she gathers her things, beginning to leave the park, when Tessa loosens herself away from him and runs towards the girl.

"TESSA!" Tom shouts, running after the curious dog, "Tessa get back here!"

Tom finally catches up with the eager animal, as she circles around the girl and licks her. He chases her around the girl, grabbing at her leash, when him and the girl end up tangled with each other.

"Oh...uh...I-I...um..." Tom stutters, untangling himself from the girl.

Tom gives in with the leash, and him and the girl stand in the middle of the park, practically breathing the same air.

"Well, this is awkward," the girl laughs, as her and Tom's faces were inches away from each other.

Tessa finally stops running around the two and just lays on the ground.

"Oh, so now you decide to rest," Tom laughs, finally able to get the leash off him and the girl, "I am so sorry about Tess here. She can be quite mischievous, but adorable."

The girl giggles, bending over to greet the dog.

"She's definitely some sort of match-maker," The girl comments, rubbing Tessa behind her short, floppy ears.

"Pardon?" Tom nervously asks.

"I'm just kidding," She jokes, standing back up, face to face with Tom, "Well, it was nice to meet you..."

"Oh! Tom, m-my...uh...name's Tom," He stutters, grabbing Tessa's leash from off the ground.

Tom watches as the girl walks in the opposite direction. As he stares off into space, Tessa nudges him towards the girl.

"Tessa, what has gotten into you?" He laughs.

With quick thinking, Tom puts two and two together, and runs after the girl.

"Hey, wait up!" He shouts, catching up with the girl.

The latter turns around, watching the former run up to her with his dog.

"Hey," She says.

"I-I uh...was wondering if you wanted to go out with uh...with me?" Tom stutters, rubbing his neck with his free hand.

The girl smiles his way.

"Yeah, that would be great."

Tom smiles, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Great. That's great," Tom says.

The two of them stare at each other, leaving the air around them silent.

"So do I have to ask for your number or were you—" The girl begins to say breaking the silence.

"Oh my goodness! I completely forgot!" Tom quickly says, pulling his phone out, "Here put your number in my phone and I'll text you."

The girl puts her number in his phone, then hands it back to him.

"Thank you...y/n," He smiles, reading the name y/n put in his phone, "I'll see you around then."

Y/n and Tom say goodbye once more and part ways. Tom walks Tessa back to his flat, smiling from ear to ear.

"I guess you are a match-maker Tess."
