A Thousand Little Cuts

Start from the beginning

An entire bar of at least 40 newly turned about to wake up vampires.

Vampires that Klaus and Damon were expecting him to kill!

What was the whole point of building all of those mental blocks in his mind if they were just going to dump him in a room with innocent people they had murdered and turned, just to be handed her for the slaughter? This was not the way he wanted to do this, no way in hell.

The problem?

His body was already fighting against all of those mental blocks.

There was a war going on inside of Jeremy the longer he stared down at the soon-to-be vampires. He struggled enough when it was just Damon around, but 40 vampires? He wouldn't be able to keep from snapping, his hunter instinct was practically giddy as it tried to claw open his restraint.

Taking a few steps back, Jeremy took in a few deep breaths and clenched his eyes shut trying desperately to focus on Bonnie and Buffy. The two people that kept him the most centered in this world, but there were just so many vampires around him.

He wanted to kill every single one of them.

His body was itching for the rush that came with their deaths.

"No way." He growled out as his hands started shaking around the stake in his hand, a stake subconsciously he wanted to drop, but couldn't "I'm not doing it."

"What makes you think you have a choice?" Klaus countered only to sigh as a familiar scent filled his senses. Immediately, he groaned in annoyance "One job Rebekah, you had one job." He muttered under his breath just as the bar doors slammed open, banging violently with the walls.

Buffy Summers stormed into the bar with a bag of weapons which she quickly tossed to Matt before making her way over to Damon and punching him in the face.

As Damon collided with the pool table, Buffy shoved Klaus back away from Jeremy and Matt "What makes you think you're gonna have a head attached to you in 30 seconds?"

She didn't know how long it took for an Original to regrow a head but she was guessing it would be enough time for her to get Matt and Jeremy someone safe until the sun was up.

Right now, Buffy could care less that she was glaring at the father of her child, he had crossed the line and she was ready to kick his damn ass.

Ignoring her fury, Klaus just groaned in annoyance "Where is Rebekah?"

"I warned her to be prepared to get you a coffin ready!"

Klaus tilted his head at the blonde before sighing "We need the mark to grow. I believe this is the quickest way to achieve that."

Buffy couldn't help but throw her arms up in the air, how were all the men in her life this damn stupid?

"Demon bar! Duh. Not kill humans and turn them bar!"

Letting out a huff, she glared at both Damon and Klaus in disgust before moving over to Jeremy and Matt.

This was not happening!

No chance!

"We're done here."

"They're not people!" Damon argued as he pulled himself off the floor only to flinch as he was met with mirroring furious glares from the siblings. It was honestly a little creepy.

"You're not people either!" Buffy snapped "Guess that puts you on the chopping block."

"Enough!" Klaus declared before he turned his focus to Jeremy "Have at it, or else."

"I don't take orders from you, dick." Jeremy hissed finally finding a small bit of strength so he could toss the stake to the ground "Just cause you knocked up my sister doesn't mean you control us."

Buffy winced at his words, she hated the term knocked up, it made her feel all trashy.

Not the point.

She could yell at Jeremy later about that.

Turning back to Klaus she narrowed her gaze, her eyes flashing black as she moved in front of the two boys "This is not happening. Unless you want Jer to turn around and start going full hunter again, we need to do this slow."

Jeremy's eyes were bouncing back and forth between the vampires and his stake again.

His fingers twitched as he desperately tried to keep from picking it back up.

"We built him another path but it doesn't change the fact that every time he kills a vampire the urge to kill more just gets stronger. He gets the opportunity to kill this many, to let go of his control without time to re-center? All of that work will be for nothing!"
