CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Strolling through the living room of his temporary home, Klaus moved towards his paints and the canvas he had been working on for the past few weeks

However, just as he moved to continue his work, he froze.

The painting on the wall beside him was slightly crooked.

Just the sight of it sent the hairs on the back of his neck flying straight up giving what was hidden behind that painting.

Without hesitation, he yanked the painting off the wall and eyed the safe carefully before entering the combination. Sure enough, his worse fears were realized as he pulled open the door only to spot one of the vials of Marianna's memory potion missing.

One vial was all it took for him to lose it.

Rage rushed through him and he yanked the safe door off the wall, launching it across the room as he growled in fury "No!"

Storming across the room he grabbed Marianna's amulet and bit into his wrist letting the blood drip over the glass crystal.

He needed answers.

Nothing could get in the way of this Prophecy coming to pass.

Nothing.

"Resurget ex favilla, liberare animum et iterum sumendi eam formam. Ruina carne."

As he finished his words, Klaus watched as the familiar black and red mist began to rise from the amulet before finally in its place stood Marianna who merely groaned at the sight of him.

Rolling her eyes the raven-haired witch placed a hand on her hip "God, what do you want now—"

Her sentence was cut short as Klaus slammed her up against the wall, lifting her off the ground by her throat causing her to gasp for air.

"Klaus—" Mary coughed violently as she clawed at his hand "What are you—you need me—"

Klaus just continued to glare at her "Where is it?!"

"Where is what?!"

"The potion!" He screamed not believing for a second that she wouldn't betray him.

She may be his sister but she had a habit of stabbing him in the back "It is gone. I know you are responsible, now tell me where it is!"

Mary grunted in pain as Klaus shoved her head against the wall causing the plaster to crack violently.

"I don't know!" She screamed "I don't know, Nik. I promise you, I don't know!"

"I don't believe you!"The temperamental hybrid growled before again slamming her head against the wall, this time leaving a dent.

Blood slowly started to seep from the back of Mary's skull, causing her vision to blur in and out, as black spots filled her eyes.

"Niklaus, please. I don't know."

Klaus merely glared at her before tossing her to the ground.

Walking around the room he twisted her amulet between his bloody palm, taunting her with it "I've known you a long time Marianna. And I know when you're lying to me. Now tell me the truth. Who took it?"

Mary merely glared up at him before spitting out the blood in her mouth and laughing at him "I'm not telling you anything you sick son of a bitch."

"Not even if I crush this?" Klaus mocked as he tapped her amulet against the table, each movement causing her to tense "We both know that with this gone, you have no way of coming back if I kill you."

"Being dead would be sweet heaven after all this time with you." She hissed "Go on brother, kill me. We both know that you need me a hell of a lot more than I need you."

While he may not kill her, he had no problem causing her pain as he did his other siblings.

Clearly, Marianna needed to be taught a lesson.

"You're going to tell me what I want to know." He told her as a crouched down beside her, a small smirk crossing his lips as he yanked her back up to her feet.

Mary merely scoffed, quirking a challenging eyebrow his way "And why would I do that? You have nothing that I want. You have no leverage."

Klaus laughed before turning his focus to the door "Don't be so sure of that. Bring her!"

He always had leverage.

He always had a backup plan to ensure loyalty.

And Marianna did have a weakness. One he had spotted following them for quite some time.

Suddenly one of Klaus' minions stormed into the room, holding a struggling female figure. Without a word, he tossed the figure on the ground before leaving the room.
