I couldn't see but then it became evident,
A crescent so warm, so resplendent.
For the first time I could truly see,
All that I am and all that I can be.
I learnt of the colours and all the hues,
Of rains, the thunder and morning dew.

I thank the rains for I regained, what I now found was once estranged.
I tasted on my lips, the salt of my sun,
Just before I left and went on the run.
I climbed upon my rusted iron steed,
With flames in her belly I was granted speed.
The winds and the fire, they took me away,
But I longed for land and I cried to stay.
I once again wished the rain, to wash away, my pain.

I once again wished the rain, to wash away, my pain
