3.

Katia woke up with a smile the next morning, it was rare that she awoke in such a great mood. But deep down she had a feeling that today would be different. Even though she swore when he walked her to the door he was going to try to make a move, she was pleasantly surprised when he just politely said good night and left once she was safely inside.

A part of her was still weary about seeing him in today, what if he reverted back to his old ways completely teasing on her stupid hopes of actually having a genuinely good time with Blake Trinton. Everyone in school knew that a good time with him usually translated into an one night stand or a few random calls for a little wrestling about the bed.

So though she was elated about how her date went the night before her stomach was still churning nervously as the clock ticked away until it was time for her to leave for school.

Trying to push her conflicting emotions aside she rose from bed, showered and primped in front of the mirror until nearly five minutes until she was scheduled to leave. Katia didn't own a car, not that she couldn't but didn't feel the need for one. Ty always drove by and picked her up everyday which saved Katia the trouble of making car payments or insurance payments, and not to forget the always faithful times she would have to invest in fueling the car up weekly. Instead she had been saving money for years now for college.

Katia knew since she arrived in high school that she wanted to attend NYU more than anything. The thoughts of the big city compared to her small hometown was thrilling and she wanted to ensure she would have plenty of money so she wouldn't have to resort to calling her parents every few months for a bit of help, not that they wouldn't if she asked. Her parents were quite devoted loving parents that were always there for her. And they openly supported her thoughts on going so far away for college, saying it would give them reasons to visit the Big Apple one day.

“Katia, Ty's here!” Clarice, Katia's mother, called from the bottom of the stairs. Ty's friendly banter could be heard in the background as Katia snagged her book bag from the foot of her bed and rushed out of the room. She bounded down the stairs to see her mother holding out a bagel and a bottle of orange juice. “Here's your breakfast, don't forget to eat. You know I won't be there to remind you of that in college.”

“I know, Mom.” Katia smiled as she took her breakfast from her mother and leaned in for a hug. “Thanks. And I'll see you later on.” Both girls waved good bye as they took their leave both carrying a bagel and a juice, since Ty often forgot to feed herself always in a rush to get to school to see Mikey again.

Once they were both secured in the car, Ty cut right to the chase, which Katia had been quite used to. Ty was never one to hold back something that was on her mind, she wouldn't expect today to be any different.

“So you think he'll act different?” Ty asked seeing no need to further explain her question.
