"Vroom vroom.."
"Big Boss is here." Oliver said (Bucky's older brother)
"We all know. We heard the car Ollie." Becca said
Bucky opened the door. "Surprise!" Everyone yelled
He jumped. "Jesus Christ! What the hell mom. I said not to make a big deal." He said as she hugged him.
"You are 30 and my last baby." Winnie said as she tapped his face.
He rolled his eyes as James hugged him. "Happy Birthday my boy."
"Thanks dad." He said as he hugged him.
He kissed Becca's cheek and shook her husband Shawn's hand. "Good to see you both." He said
He hugged Oliver. "Ollie..good to see you made home in one piece." He said as he hugged his sister in law Faith Ann.
"Lets eat..your mama has been cooking all day for her baby. So lets go enjoy the dinner." James said as trying to avoid the elephant in the room.
Ollie is three years older than Bucky. They lost their oldest boy Elliot overseas just the year before. He was 5 years older than Bucky and 2 years older than Ollie.
They all went into the dining room where Winnie had the fondue pot set up. Bucky grabbed beer as he popped a cubed cheese in his mouth. They all took a seat once they all got their drinks.
Winnie laid out the plates with steak and lobster as well sheskabobs with steak and shrimp. They all started to eat and enjoy the family time.
Half way through the dinner party Bucky noticed it was quiet. "Who has your kids?" He said to his siblings.
"Mom said this was an adult party. So Shawn's parents is watching Liv and Toby and Ellie are with friends from school." Becca said
"And Faith Ann's parents are still here in Brooklynn. They took Quinn and Hayden to the movies. And of course little Cameron is staying with her aunt Chloe." Ollie said
"Oh..well thats good I guess. Less of a headache for you all. You all can relax right?" Bucky said
"James.." Winnie whispered
"Im just saying mom.." he said
After they finished up dinner Winnie brought his cake. "Mom?" He said
"Your daddy was in charge of the cake." She said
Bucky smirked. "Good job dad." He said
They all sang happy birthday to him. He blew out the candles then pulled the tiny bottles of Henessy out of it.
As they were all eating cake James handed him a gift bag. "Its from all of us." James said
He opened it up to see a new bottle of Henessy still in the box. He unwrapped the other box to reveal his box of cigars.
He smiled "Thanks everyone." He said.
His siblings left to get their kids. As he was helping clean up Winnie said "James baby now that you are 30 and your business is doing well. Are you finally gonna start looking to settle down and have your kids?"
"Mom dont start.." he said
"James honey. You cant keep doing this forever. All of your friends are married with kids." Winnie said
"Mom! Please dont start this bullshit with me! I dont want to settle or have babies." He said in a raised tone.
She looked down. "Im going home.." he said
"James Buchanan!" James said in a raised tone.
He turned around to see his dad. "Go apologize to your mother for yelling. You have no business yelling at her like that. She is worried sick about you. And I for one am too." He said
Bucky looked down as he went back to the kitchen. He apologized and hugged her. "Im sorry mama..I just dont want those things anymore." He whispered
He grabbed his gifts and coat then left his parents house.
