"That is correct, Sal."

"So let me get this straight, one more time. You and John went on your fourth date last week and had the 'dating other people' discussion."

"Yes."

"Since then, you have gone on first dates with two other guys."

"I have."

"And every day for the past week, John has called you for a goodnight chat, after he puts his daughter to bed."

"She has occasionally been on the call, since she doesn't want to go to sleep."

"And you have plans with John not once, but twice this weekend?"

"A movie tomorrow afternoon starring two of my favorite 90s child stars, and a brunch on Sunday involving lemonade and quinoa, since he couldn't decide which activity he didn't want to do."

"But you're not a couple?"

"We are respectful friends."

"Lenny."

"Sal."

"You two are in denial."

"He is being practical, and I am protecting my heart."

"You silly Canadians."

"Hello, Sal? If nothing else, living in Toronto has taught me that I am so American that I practically bleed red, white, and blue."

"For now."
