NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

Buffy Summers was far from being in the desert with Giles.

For the past few days, she had been trapped in a cage.

Yep, she was in a damn cage.

Apparently treating her like an animal was a real thrill for witches. Sighing, Buffy laid back on the military cot she had been given and continued to count the cracks on the ceiling. It wasn't exactly fun but it was not like she had anything else to do.

She had been in here for days and had read the book they had given her five times already.

So now she was just bored.

They had been doing all of this witchy juju around her for days and kept her in this damn cage surrounded by a binding spell so she couldn't leave.

She needed to get out of here, needed to get back home, but for all she knew she was thousands of miles away from home.

As the entrance door opened, Buffy quickly sat up and turned to the witch Sophie as she entered the room.

Sophie's face was stained with tears, not that Buffy gave a crap.

The bitch had kidnapped her!

"We done playing witch now?" Buffy asked flatly only for her stomach to growl as she caught the smell of gumbo.

Catching the plastic container as it was tossed over, Buffy inhaled deeply, letting the heavingly smell wash over her senses as she clutched her dinner to her chest.

While Sophie was a bitch for kidnapping her, she couldn't say the woman didn't make a good gumbo.

Sophie's gumbo was one of the best things Buffy had ever tasted.

The second Buffy started digging into the soup-stew with her plastic spoon like a woman who had been starved for centuries, Sophie wiped the tears from her eyes before bending down to The Slayer's eye level.

It was a little unsettling how quickly the Slayer-loving ancestors had turned on a Slayer of Buffy Summers's caliber.

This woman had saved the world six times!

Yet, that didn't matter anymore to them.

Buffy's own history was no longer of importance to them now that they knew what Buffy was about to bring upon the witches.

Technically speaking, Buffy might be about to bring the death of all witches.

"My sister sacrificed herself to confirm our suspicions."

"Great." Buffy rolled her eyes "Not that I don't feel for you, you know I have a sister too, but are we done here?"

Truthfully, Buffy didn't care that Sophie's sister was dead, Jane-Anne had been the one leading the force that kidnapped her!

Plus, most of her family was dead but she didn't complain about it every damn day.

Sophie let out a flat laugh as she moved across the crypt, heading right over to the candles in the corner. The candles currently shielding Buffy from being magically located.

Jane-Anne's final gift before her death.

"We would have been done sooner, had you stopped trying to kill us all."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I should have realized you were kidnapping me for my own good!"

Slurping up the last of her gumbo, Buffy pressed back against the wall, watching as the witch moved around the room "Can I at least get something to draw with."

"So you can slit my throat with a pencil?" Sophie countered before letting out a harsh laugh. She wasn't stupid. Buffy Summers was known for being able to turn anything into a weapon.

Her name summoned fear in the vampire community for a reason.

"Not happening."

Buffy groaned in annoyance as she twisted the thin sheet between her fingertips "Come on, staring at flames is not as fun as Real Housewives. Can I at least get a TV if you're gonna keep me locked up?"
