Rosella's POV
I locked up the small bookstore, turning the open sign around outside and started on my way home.
It was very rare when I closed by myself but nobody else could come in for their shift tonight.
I kicked the small pebble along the ground. Holding my focus to it until I heard a loud crashing noise.
I looked up and around hardly able to spot anything in the dark. My head snapped to the side watching the man drop dead in the alley way while other stood around watching.
Making my eyes grow wide. I froze in my tracks.
Should I call the police?
Or run?
Overhearing the questionable conversation ahead.
"I knew that election was rigged it doesn't matter who runs for anything in this city we all know who's going to win!" Frank said putting up his hands as he looked at the two henchmen pointing a gun at him.
"You're not the first guy to know about information like that, its sensitive and it makes the boss really nervous, who else knows?" He asked Frank holding the gun up. Frank swallowed nervously still trying to keep his cool.
"No one I promise I know I shouldn't have stuck my nose into where it didn't belong, what do you say we all go our separate ways I never talked about this?" Frank suggested hoping they would take the deal. They both looked at each other only for them to cock their guns ready to fire.
"Sorry Frank you've been digging around and that's something he doesn't like, can't have any loose ends with information that you've obtained." he told him.
"Go fuck yourself!" Frank replied quickly taking out a gun from his coat squeezing his gun letting out one shot before they both gunned him down.
"Fuck!" one of the henchmen yelled out, holding his arm realizing Frank shot him. The other one turns to look at Frank and noticed that he died instantly after receiving so many shots.
"Oh shut up it's just a flesh wound you'll live, search him." he demanded only to turn his head and see something that caught his interest.
"What the hell is that?" He asked. In that moment he realized it was a woman watching everything that just happened.
He pointed the gun at me but the only reason he stopped from pulling the trigger was because he could hear sirens coming from far away no doubt due to the gunshots.
"Shit the cops are on their way and we can't stay here and I don't want to fire another shot because then they're going to know exactly where we're at" he said putting the gun away.
"Then what the hell do we do?" The other one asked holding his arm. They both turn to look at me l realizing I was scared, almost frozen in fear too much to even move.
"She's not bad looking honestly but then again that's not our call to make, let's take her to the boss maybe he might make her useful." he said quickly grabbing me by the arm roughly before throwing me in the back of his car.
"Stay down and shut up if not I'll empty the entire clip in the back of your throat..." he told me as they both got in the car and lock the doors quickly driving off heading towards the main building in the city. The other guy was slowly wrapping his arm trying to fix himself up only to look back,
"If it's any consolation, I think killing you is a terrible waste. Except, I can think of a few ways to make you pretty useful" he grinned only to feel the other man hit his arm causing him to grunt in pain.
Staring with a blank expression, lost in my emotions. Feeling so afraid and confused.
How could he say something like that? I knew exactly where he was going when he called me useful. I felt like I was going to be sick. I was definitely one girl that could turn heads, but if prefer them to keep it in their pants.
"You have a one-track brain you know that? If he found out you did that then that bullet is the last thing you'd have to worry about" He said driving faster towards the building.
The flashing lights and sirens flaring in the distance started to fade in the distance as they drove away with me. I've head some things that now I'm certainly questioning. Who were these people? What's going to happen to me.
I wasn't ready to be shot in the head, so I didn't even put up a fight, though these people have seen nothing from me.
I was determined to get away, alive. It didn't care who got in my way. It took me a moment to really comprehend the situation. I'm being kidnapped by murderers.
I watched the murder and didn't move. I could've done something. I squirmed in the bottom of the van and moved myself closer to the door.
The rough bumps in the road made it hard to even grab the handle. I gripped it and pulled down. Locked. I should've expected it, once again I got my hopes up and was let down.
Taking a few deep breaths in attempt to relax. I needed a plan and I didn't have much time. Whoever they're taking me to doesn't seem too understanding.
As they drove off into the night slowly hearing the sirens behind them disappear as they go deeper into the city one of the men breaks the silence.
"Do we really have to take her to the boss? I mean it's not like anybody will miss this toy. We can pull over right now in an alley and I can think of many useful ways for her to keep us warm." He asked looking at me with that grin on his face.
The other man just drove faster before replying as he made a few turns.
"Keep thinking like that and you're going to end up dead or worse you know how the boss feels would that type of talk, plus ever since the deal went South with that other group on the other side of town he's been really quiet, he's clearly pissed so why not take him something to take his mind off of it" he said finally arriving at the building only for him to pull up in the back and stop the van suddenly.
"Lucky bastard. I would have taught her a few things too." the other guy said grumbling as he got off the car and went around the back. As they both open the door one of them pulled out a pair of handcuffs and spun them around his finger.
"Don't even think about screaming because the moment you do, I'll stuff your throat with something I know you won't be able to make a sound with, now let's go." he demanded pulling me out of the van and cuffing my hands behind my back.
They arrived at one of the biggest hotel buildings in the city obviously owned by someone powerful, they grabbed my arm and took me in through the back, not caring who saw them, but like it didn't matter anyways.
They went past the kitchen and noticed a few cooks looking over at them, but quickly turned away knowing better that's a question them.
"I still think this is a fucking waste, why don't we get a few beers right now and take her for a ride." the other one said if they push the button in the private elevator.
"Just shut up and don't look at him directly in the eyes he hates that." the other one said as he threw me in the elevator only for them to walk in and push the button up to the top floor.
There was silence as they made their way up but they both knew I was afraid, not that they cared. After a little while the elevator made a ding sound letting them know they were there.
"Let's go toy. If you don't want to end up like that man in the alley, I suggest you impress him." He said pushing me forward as we made our way down a long hallway.
