They continued talking for what felt like days. (Y/N) learned much about Arthur's past. She felt so sorry for him. He didn't deserve this. Any of this. She wished that she could've been there. There for him. But somehow, fate had no mercy on him. She also shared some stories of her past. Besides all if the basic stuff, (Y/N) told the Joker about her first time feeling complete.

It seemed odd to talk about such a thing on a first official meeting, but it wasn't in this case. Because (Y/N)'s first time feeling complete was when she saw the Franklin Murray show for the first and last time. Because on that specific night, one specific guest joined the show with one specific mission. With the Joker killing someone on TV, he also brought something to life.
And somehow, it was for (Y/N) to see the beauty behind this horrifying and brutal message. Gotham changed forever. The Joker was born.

Arthur felt appreciated. The Joker felt glorious. And (Y/N) felt complete.

Time went by quickly, and suddely, it was 2 AM. For the upcoming mission, (Y/N) convinced Arthur to get a little rest and despite all of his whining and denials, he eventually gave in. Just when she wanted to leave, he initially wanted to ask her if she wanted to sleep here tonight, instead of the cold and wet ground. But before he could say anything at all, she said goodnight and went off. Goodnight, he answered ,even though she was long gone. Arthur definitely wouldn't sleep tonight.

(Y/N) exited the room only to find ,who was apparently Paul, glaring at her. Quickly, she made her way back to her original space. As she arrived she turned around one more time. There he was. Looking at her, with the deadliest stare, with a disgusted expression and pure anger coming out of his eyes. (Y/N) stared back at him, (Y/E/C) eyes locked with his. It was a literal staredown. Eventually, Paul gave up and stormed into Arthur's room.
The feeling of victory took over for a second, then the thoughts of today's events took over. (Y/N) smiled. She definitely wouldn't sleep tonight.

"Boss, I don't think that this is a good idea.", Paul said as he was storming in. The Joker didn't even bother looking at him. Paul has never seen the Joker in such a state before. And he admitted that it scared him. "Is everything prepared for tomorrow?", the Joker asked without answering to Paul's previous comment. "Well...yes, but boss I-". Now the Joker looked him right in the face, eyes sharp like knifes that were ready to slit though anything that was alive. Paul understood and his hate grew even more. "Go to sleep.", the Joker commanded. Paul nodded and left the room. Paul definitely wouldn't sleep tonight.
______________

As the night died, a new day was born. A special day. Today was (Y/N)'s  first mission within the rebellion. As they were planning on the last special things, Dustin and his girlfriend came by. "(Y/N)! May I introduce my girlfriend Stella!" She waved shyly and her short red hair fell onto her face. "Hi Stella, I'm (Y/N)."
"Dustin told me about you! He said that you were an undercover detective that helped the poor in Gotham. That's so awesome!"
(Y/N) got flustered. "I-Its no big thing."

A loud signal interrupted the discussion. (Y/N) saw the Joker on a platform. Everyone looked up to him. His eyes wandered around the crowd, it seemed like he was searching for someone.

Each other's gaze met and Arthur smiled a little. For a short moment   (Y/N) saw into Arthur's loving, caring and sweet eyes. It was short, but wonderful. As she heard his voice, she felt Arthur fade and the Joker taking over. Now she looked into the dominant, overtaking and seductive eyes of the Joker. (Y/N) realized that Arthur and the Joker were like water and oil. They would never be one. Nor would there ever be just Arthur or just the Joker. They were two complete opposite souls in one body. And (Y/N) was totally ok with that.

"It is time. Even though we have done this before many times, it will be better than every single one of them. Today, the people once again will see, what they have done to us. They will get what they deserve."

The Joker paused and everyone cheered. He really knew how to hype up a crowd. He continued:

"Now get your weapons! Get your Masks and let's show the people, who really is in control! Every single one of them is a joke! And now...who's laughing? Who's laughing now?"

Even more cheering. (Y/N)'s heart was racing and she felt the adrenalin rush through her veins. She was ready. So ready. Well...mentally.

No weapons, no protection not even a clown mask. She really was a cliché newbie. As the crowd spread through the warehouse searching for weapons and such, (Y/N) quickly lost her orientation and all of the hopes and excitement from the speech faded quickly. Before things got out of hand, she felt a hand in hers. She whirled around only to see Arthur smiling at her.

"Come with me!", he practically screamed. Everything suddenly got so loud and chaotic. But without a doubt, (Y/N) followed him. Hand in hand, they walked to Arthur's room again. He smashed the door shut the second they both were in it. For some reason Arthur seemed nervous.

"Everything ok?"
"Yeah it's just...", Arthur began shaking again. (Y/N) needed to act fast so she just asked him:

"How's the weather, Arthur?"

When she saw that he immediately calmed down, she calmed down as well.

"It's like Summer Rain. A sign. Something big is gonna happen.", he answered and walked up to her. (Y/N) assumed that something big was their mission.

As he was standing in front of her, she asked him:

"Why did you bring me here?"

He immediately tensed up again, so (Y/N) grabbed his hand.

"It's ok.", she smiled and looked into his eyes.

"I wanted to do your make-up. I thought that you would really like it and I think you're worth it. But if you don't want to do it that's totally fine like I wouldn't be surprised like who would want to hang out with a guy like me like..."

(Y/N) put her hand on his mouth before he could talk any further. It really hurt her when he talked like this. He looked confused.

"Arthur. I would love it if you did my make-up. And for your information, you can do my make-up for every mission, if you want.".

She moved her hand from his mouth to his right cheek.

"And I love hanging out with you. More than I love hanging out with anyone else."

Arthur just looked at her with a shocked expression. Then he remembered that he shouldn't have expected anything else from her. She is an angel after all. So he put his hand over hers, just like he did when she calmed him down from his attack.

"Let's go."

He guided her to a little make-up desk and got her the most comfortable chair in the room. He put everything he needed such as face paints and brushes on the table. They both sat down as Arthur started painting on her face.
Slow, gentle and precise strokes over her face. He didn't want to mess up a thing. He also wanted to make her feel good and taken care of.

(Y/N) loved that he took this so seriously, and tried to stand as still as possible. Hovever, she couldn't help but grin for the whole time. She felt like a school girl that couldn't get her crush out of her mind. The Joker seemed to notice at some point and asked her:

"Why are you smiling?"

And (Y/N) simply answered:

"Because I am happy."

Now Arthur couldn't help but smile too. And he smiled for the rest of the time he did her make-up.

After a short while, the make-up was done and (Y/N) saw herself in the mirror.

"You are beautiful."

She heard Arthur say. (Y/N) turned to him and said:

"I had a good make-up artist."

Arthur let out a small chuckle.

"I wasn't talking about the make-up."
