A Nightmare To Remember

Start from the beginning

As the sunlight hit her eyes, Buffy groaned and turned over in her bed, burying her face under her pillow.

Despite the fact she could hear her sketchbook hit the ground with a thud at the sudden movement, she didn't care.

It was too early!

Why was she awake so early?

It was unnatural for her to be awake before the sun was up high, especially given that she had only stopped painting about an hour before the sun started to rise.

Clearly, today was going to be horrid!

This was a sign, she could feel it.

Feeling sunlight peeking through her pillows, Buffy grumbled loudly and turned onto her left side so that she was facing away from the sunrise.

The second she felt a hard muscular chest underneath her instead of her soft memory foam pillow, Buffy groaned in annoyance.

Today had somehow gotten worse and she had barely been awake for 15 seconds.

Without looking up she huffed knowing exactly who this was. For one he reeked like booze and his presence hadn't soothed her.

When Stefan used to show up and join her in the middle of the night she always felt so well rested afterward.

Stefan had a habit of making the nightmares disappear.

"Get out of my bed Damon, you're interrupting Buffy's nap time. Buffy without a nap is not a happy gal."

Damon chuckled before turning onto his side to face the blonde who rolled away from him attempting to force herself back to sleep "Come on get up. We're going out."

Instead of answering Buffy just kicked him, purposely sending him rolling off her bed and crashing down onto the ground. She grinned slightly as the grunt of pain filled her ears.

There was something about Damon being in pain that brought her a sick kind of joy.

It was karma for so much.

"No. Still hate you." She moaned as she pulled her covers over her head, intent on trying to catch back up on some sleep.

The sudden cold caused Buffy to scream as the blanket was yanked off her.

Sitting up she glared up at Damon who was now standing at the edge of her bed, teasingly holding her covers which he purposely threw out of her reach before she could try and grab them back.

She had literally kicked him out of the bed and caused his jaw to slam into the floorboards.

This made them even in Damon's mind.

Buffy let out a small growl "I'm five seconds away from throwing you headfirst out the window...without your ring."

"Scary." He mocked sarcastically before smirking as he took in the sight of her in her yummy sushi pajamas "Oh, how I have missed those."

Buffy rolled her eyes before speeding over to stand in front of him, snatching the covers off the floor "What do you want and if doesn't end in a dusty way I'm going back to bed."

Damon merely smirked, "We gotta go to jail today."

Alaric had been arrested.

Hence why for the time being, Buffy was putting her anger at Damon on hold. Though she still intended to make fun of him, and if he so much as pissed her off she was snapping his neck and abandoning him.

"You're arresting him?" Damon asked in disbelief as he and Buffy stood outside Alaric's cell with the Sherriff "For what this nutjob Dr. Fell says?"

Buffy nodded in agreement as she continued to munch on her breakfast taco.

She just couldn't understand why Alaric seemed to be the number one suspect.

Alaric hadn't even been able to kill Damon, there was no way he would actually kill someone innocent.

He just didn't have it in him.

"Alaric isn't a killer. Pretty sure none of us have ever had him try and kill us. I mean except Damon, but we've all tried to kill him. It's like the best bonding experience for new Mystic Falls residents."

She and Alaric had originally bonded their love of weapons and hatred of Damon.

They could have started a Damon Sucks club.
