*Serena's POV
It was our last day in Kanto and I awoke to find Ash standing up and stretching like he usually does
"Looks like your alright" I said
"Yeah I am, thanks again" Ash replied
"No problem, but we should get going, looks like we'll be last again" I then said
"Right" He agreed
Together we exited the room and walked into the living room and I was right as all of our friends were already there. But they had strange looks on their faces, some of them were smiling weirdly while others had an expectant look. And then there was Fiera with the usual emotionless expression
"Whats going on?" Ash asked as we sat down
"Ash were going to play a little game" Kiawe answered
"How do we play?" I asked
"Ash is it first. Go ahead and close your eyes" Misty said and Ash closed his eys
Kiawe then walked over and he landed a somewhat hard chop to Ash's shoulder which knocked him out
"Looks like you still got it" Jason said
"I try" Kiawe replied
"W-What was that for?" I asked
"This is for your own good Serena" Shauna said
"Today we find out the one hundred percent truth" Dawn added
"Huh?" I asked still
Jason then cleared his throat and said "Allow me to explain. You see, when I was younger I went through training with lots of different types of Pokemon including Psychic types. Part of that training was a limited ability to read someones mind"
"Ok, and? You didn't need to do that to Ash" I replied
"We thought the ability would be useful to find out what Ash really thinks about you" Miette explained teasingly and with a grin
"Well get to it then" I sighed
Jason then stood next to Kiawe and placed his hand on Ash's forehead and closed his eyes. It looked like was concentrating but at the same time he had a confused look on his face. It took about 3 minutes but he backed up and it looked like had the results ready
"Interesting...." He said
"What did you see?" Gary asked
"Basically our suspicions are confirmed. Ash just really sees Serena as a good friend but he does find her attractive. And my theory was also right, Ash has some kind of internal conflict surrounding it but I can't see the specifics" Jason explained
"But Serena has a chance right?" Mallow asked
"Within time she'll get there, for now Ash is just really dense" Jason answered
"Why do you guys care so much anyways though?" I asked
"Because we want to see Ash happy" Brock answered
"Not to mention we now know he's kind of struggling inside about it" May added
"And we want to see you happy too Serena" Shauna said
"Yeah, we're just being really good friends" Drew agreed
We could then tell Ash was waking up so we shut up and he slowly opened his eyes
