E I G H T E E N

For you Allah, For you <3

I've tried and tried again,

I wanted to stop, didn't know when,

Why didn't I see it before?

The wrong in it- I chose to ignore,

Forgive me Ya Allah for the mistakes I've made,

Alhamdulillah I've realized and have been saved,

My heart does hurt right now,

I want to cope, I don't know how,

But Allah I've seen the truth,

I now know this is a poison for the youth,

We want what we think is good,

But we never understood,

That this life is not all fun and games,

We have to achieve so many aims,

Our ultimate aim is to please our Lord,

The Lord that we have so long ignored,

My heart shatters at the mere thought,

It is my Lord from whom I was to sought,

But this poison Inside, this staining ink,

The Ink that taints my heart and makes it sink,

I thought I couldn’t recover,

That we’d broken one another,

But look at how things have changed,

With Islam I have engaged,

“Your love for something blinds and deafens” (Abū Dāwūd, Aḥmad).

This experience has taught me a lesson,

Don’t tie a noose around your heart,

It will cause you pain right from the start,

Fill it with the love of Allah,

He’ll love you near and from afar,

O young souls you have so much to experience,

So let’s forget this world and come back to our senses.
