My first thought when I woke up was, wow it's cold in here.

Now, keep in mind that my first thought after waking up could've been anything. And by that I mean something serious and relevant.

For example, wow, is this what heaven is really like?

Or, I'm going to die. Axel, Hunter and the M&Ms are in trouble. I need to find a way to help them.

But no. I was cold. Sue me.

"When can we get out of this hell hole?" Parker asks from next to me.

The both of us had stopped fighting against our shackles a while back.

Lloyd, our good old guard, gave us a bored expression.

"Technically, we're not in hell, we're in heaven." I reason.

A few more minutes pass by of our pointless conversations until silence looms over the suppressed fear that captivated the air between my brother and I.

I was tired of letting the silence take control of me. That was stopping. Now.

"The warden threw a party in the county jail." I sang off-key.

Lloyd looked beyond annoyed now, encouraging my desire to keep singing.
I had to admit I was a bit smug about the fact that he was limping because I hurt him. Yeah, I'm a horrible person.

"The prison band was there as they began to wail." I continued.

Parker closed his eyes, leaning his head against his knees, a smile playing on his lips.

"The band was jumping and the joint began to swing." He joined in, equally as horrible. Clearly, we both enjoyed irritating Lloyd.

"You should've heard them knocked out jailbirds sing!" We chorused.

"KNOCK IT OFF!" Lloyd pulled at the air.

What was he doing?

Suddenly, the chain around my hands were tugged at the same way he pulled at the air.

So, my shackles were magical. Great! That was definitely going to leave a bruise.

"If you're gonna kill us, will you just get on with it?" Parker snaps.

In response, Lloyd tugged at the air again, pulling at the chains around my wrists causing me to wince in pain.

"Hey Llyod, how's the leg honey?" I ask in the most saccharine tone I can muster, causing him to raise his lovely middle finger at me.

Parker snorts from next to me.

"You're lucky I can't do anything to you, orders from above. Boss wants to deal with you himself." Our guard barks at us.

"Great, I finally get to see the egotistical and maniacal asshole who's hell-bent on screwing my life up." I quip.

Now, it was Lloyd's turn to snort. "You do realize what he's gonna do, don't you? You aren't the least bit afraid?"

Parker stares at me.

"No," I reply after a beat, "I've spent too much time being afraid. I won't do it anymore. If he wants to kill me, so be it."

My twin remains silent, toying with his hands. Lloyd leaves the.. whatever this thing is.

"After everything, you're just- But you, you- I can't." Parker sighs frustratedly.

"I'm sorry. I really am." I mumble like it's gonna help anything.

I get no response. Understandable.

He places his head down.

And then I feel a shuffle of movement behind Lloyd. And when I see what the intruder is doing, I realize one very crucial thing.

We're all toast, if that's the weapon being used.
