Cygnus sighed as she boarded the Hogwarts Express. Second year has passed in the blink of an eye, and the next year Draco would be joining her at Hogwarts!
"Hey." Came a soft voice from behind her.
Cygnus turned to see Cedric Diggory, a goofy grin on his face and one of his arms tucked awkwardly behind his back.
Cygnus smiled and wrapped her arms around the Hufflepuff boy.
"Look, I made you something." He says, and he reveals a blanket, and Cygnus cries.
"Cedric its beautiful!" She says, looking it over. And it truly was a thing of beauty. Seamlessly Hufflepuff Gold and Slytherin Emerald melded together to create the perfect backdrop for the many sewn on patches. A snake here, a badger there, a swan, a book of spells, a whomping willow that angrily twisted itself on the thick wool. The unmistakable glasses that adorned Cygnus' face. A paper canary that fluttered about.
"My mom, she helped me make it." He explains, draping the blanket over her shoulders.
Cygnus nestled into his chest.
"I love it."
Cedric smiled and pressed a kiss to the girl's dark locks.
The two stayed curled together until the train finally came to a slow, halting stop.
