"why did you keep me alive?" the astronaut asked softly as his head was lifted and put into the masterminds lap.
"well, jeez kaito. i made your personality like this and still managed to get a crush on you." the detective huffed and looked around the abandoned trial room.

"you should've executed me with tsumugi, maki, himiko, and kokichi." kaito muttered, looking up at the boy. shuuichi only smiled, "but then i wouldn't have anything to do. besides, you would've died from your illness anyways. it would've been a boring execution."

kaito sighed. shuuichi was being confusing. the astronaut never expected him, the shy but smart and sweet detective, to be the mastermind. it came as a huge and rather sad surprise to him.

"why you?" kaito asked, looking back at him. the boy looked down, "why me what?" shuuichi questioned, looking down to the astronaut with a smile.

"why do you have to be the mastermind? why you out of all of us..?" he asked. shuuichi's smile only grew. "does someone have a crush? i'm flattered! i return those feelings. but i'm sure it's not what you want, hm?" he giggled.

"i, for some reason, feel rather relieved actually. happy, even." kaito chuckled weakly and gave the detective a smile. his heart fluttered. "your making the mastermind blush with only a smile. you should be proud." shuuichi says casually.

shuuichi took a look around the empty trial room. at each podium. he had remembered who was at each by this point. "did you really program us? our personalities?" kaito asked. "yeah, i did. you used to be a dick before your audition for the killing game got accepted. your lucky i gave you such an outgoing personality."

kaito chuckled again, this time coughing up some blood. "your not gonna last much longer, hm?" shuuichi said, patting kaitos head. "your rather calm for practically being in the lap of the mastermind."

"i guess it doesn't bother me too much. i don't know how though, your pretty damn scary." the astronaut says, smiling once more. shuuichi's heart flutters. "stop it. i wasn't supposed to get a crush on you. but here i am." the detective huffs.

kaito coughs a few more times. the two made small talk before it started getting worse. "i...won't go on much longer." kaito said weakly, flashing his smile. it made shuuichi feel sad for some reason. "you better not make me cry. now that'll be embarrassing."
but when he said that, he realized something.

kaito was already gone. "...ah..." shuuichi realized he was crying. "you were....something, kaito momota. glad i was able to crush on you and yet, watched you die." he placed kaitos head on the floor and stood up.

he walked over to monokuma's chair. a red button popped out. shuuichi chuckled, "it's execution time!! let this be the last, and let's make the most of it!!!"
