Chaebol, koreans say that the word comes from the combination of the characters for "rich" and "clan." It generally applies to large groups of interconnected companies that are usually dominated by a wealthy family. A chaebol often consists of a large number of diversified affiliates, controlled by an owner whose power over the group often exceeds legal authority.

That's why, most chaebols believed that, When you are at the top, you feel invincible. You're free to do whatever you want, express your feelings, and free to judge people. With fame and money, comes power, with power you can do everything.

That's how common rich people thinks. One commonality sa kanila is that power makes you invincible.

"Annyeonghaseo." I politely said, habang nakayuko.

Tumawa naman yung tatay ni Jin Young. Should I be glad na he looks happy, or should I worry?

Some where even smirking and shook their heads in disbeliefs, iba naman tahimik lang pinagmamasdan kami.

"geunyeoneun nae yeoja chingu ya." (She's my girlfriend.) Jin Young proudly said.

He didn't back down.

She looks angry. Her fleek eyebrows are more visible dahil sa pagkakunot neto.

Phew!

"yeoja chingu?"

My heart humped faster. Shet, this is a bad sign.

"Jin Young, she's from the Philippines, a third world country, are you sure you want to date someone like her? She looks poor!" malakas na sambit nung isang mataray na auntie kanina.

Aba! Matalim ko siyang binalingan. She didn't look scared, she just shrugged at binaliwala ako.

"She's right son. She looks like someone beneath our social status." Sang-ayon naman ng kanyang nanay.

Jin young's father didn't say anything.

"Mom. Now is not the right time to talk about things like this."

I was expecting one, pero dalawang picture ang pinagdasalanan nila.

"oneul-eun nae eomeoniwa anaeui janglyesig-ida. najung-e igeos-e daehae iyagi hae bobsida. jigeum dangjang-eun geudeul-ege anbu jeonhaejusibsio." (Today is my mother and my wife's funeral. Let's talk about this later. For now, let us give our regards to them.) those simple words, made everyone in the room shut up. Even Jin Young's mom didn't protest.

They all gave their respect to the dead. Unlike the chinese na may incenso-incenso pa, sila hindi na. They just folded their hands together and bowed. Hindi ako nakisali dahil Christian ako, so I stick by my beliefs, but I still gave my regards to the deceased.
