Chapter 39

Zain's P.O.V

What the hell had just happened. I was having the best night of my life. Did I just lose Tasha? Why didn't I just say something instead of standing there like a stone cold statue? Why did I let her leave like that? My thoughts were everywhere. I was going crazy. I ran out of the hall looking for her frantically. I saw Rayaan talking to a few of the other people that were on the Valentines Ball committee.

"Hey, Ray, Ray come here" I shouted. "Hey man, whats wrong?" He asked worried. "Can you ring Tasha, I can't get through to her" I said in a hurry. "Tasha? I thought she was with you" he asked puzzled. "She was, I er, just ring her" I said, not knowing what to do. Rayaan took his phone out and dialled her number "Hello, oh hey Imaani, I'm assuming Tasha is with you, Uh-huh, okay, Sure. Hope she feels better" He said and looked at me. "Imaani is taking her home, she said she isn't feeling well" Rayaan Said. "Shit" I said and let out a long sigh.

"Why do I get the feeling something is wrong" Rayaan said sitting next to me on the bench. "I fucked up man" I said, combing my hands through my hair. "Mike told Tasha about the bet and now she hates my guts" I said. I was so angry. Angry at Mike and myself for getting into this situation.

"Shit man, now what" He asked. "Give her a few days to cool off and then explain it to her, do you want me t..." "No!" I shouted standing up. "I'll speak to her myself" I said.

I felt like I had lost everything. I lay on my bed thinking about the time we had just spent. Her beautiful eye looking at me with a sparkle, her laughter making my heart go into a frenzy and the way she felt in my arms. I was aching to touch her, to speak to her to even see her, but she had switched her phone off. I kept going through her pictures I had. The one good thing that happens to me and I go an ruin that too.

I got off the bed and ran downstairs jumped on my bike and started it. My mind wasn't registering what I was doing but my heart wasn't giving it enough time. I window was open and I climbed through. She was asleep. I sat down slowly and started at her. I felt like she had been crying that made me feel even worse. I didn't know how long it had been and I fell asleep.

I woke up to her sound. I was right, she was crying. She looked fragile and empty. "What are you doing her" She said, not making eye contact. "Tell me he was lying, tell me he made it up and is only messing with me again" She said. I could see the tears about to come out of her eyes and I felt a really sharp pang in my heart. "Tasha, honestly it was a mistake, yea I made the bet, but I didn't realise I'd fall in love with you" I said walking up to her. She moved away and held her hand up, motioning me to stop. "Please, don't move away from me, don't keep me away, I promise I will...", "Please leave" She cut me off before I could finish my sentence. I walked out of her room and jumped on my bike.
