Saturdays are the best days. you can wake up late, you can eat whatever you want, do whatever you want and save all your stress for Sunday.

"EARTH TO ARBY!" I look up from my coffee cup. Iris, my best friend yells waving her hands in front of my face.

"I zoned out again, didn't I?" I ask looking around the café. WILD Café has been my favorite location since I can remember. the owner, Kya, a woman in her mid-thirties, named the place after her four sons. Willow, Ian, Liam and Dorian.

Last year, when we were seniors, I remember'dating' Dorian. He brought me here after school one day on a date. He insisted on paying for both of us and I agreed because I knew he wasn't paying his mom a penny. I see Dorian here with his brothers quite often, but it's always really awkward and I would be lying if I said I didn't have feelings for him.

"And that's why I'm not friends with her anymore." Iris says proudly. I nod, pretending like I heard every word she said.

"Honestly, I agree. that makes her so unlikeable." I add to make it more believable.

I hate doing this to Iris. she has been my best friend since freshman year, and looks when she first moved to Millstone. She always complains that I never listen to her, so when I do zone out, I pretend like I didn't. Evidently, I have an immensely short attention span.

"Mhm," She agrees, buying it.  "Anyways, have you heard about Dorian?"

I straighten up immediately. " No, what about him?"

"He got accepted into NYU."

"Dorian? NYU? Not possible."

"It's true. he's the first 'Wild Child' to go to college. and that too being an Ivy League University. Crazy right? Who knew he was that smart."

I did.

I quickly snapped out of my thoughts by my phone vibrating on the café table.

My younger brother, Emric, was calling. I pick up almost immediately.

"Hey love, what's up?" I ask concerned. Em never calls me. we are more of the texting type.

"Arbel, I'm in a really bad situation. Come home please." He says, voice shaking.

"What happened? Em tell me. Is mom okay?"

"Yes," He pauses, breathing heavily. "Arbel, I'm scared.

"I'll be there as soon as possible." I say quickly and hang up. I turn to Iris. "Emric is calling me home. I think he's in trouble."
