Chapter 31: Why Do I Have That Drawing?

"Knock, knock!"

Cathy looked up, her glasses falling down slightly. She did her cute little glass pushing up thingy and smiled. "Hey, Alex."

"How's studying going?" I asked her, sitting across from her.

"Terrible," she sighed. "So much work. Every day. It's stressful."

I closed her textbook and pushed it away. I grabbed the bag that was under me and placed it on the desk.

"Then let's eat," I said, opening the Chick-fil-A I ordered.

Her face lit up immediately. "You can't bring food in the library. But... that looks good."

I grabbed the bag in one hand and her hand in another and rushed to the corner of the library where bookshelves surrounded us. I placed the bag on the floor and sat down, opening it again.

She smiled as she sat down too. "That's a lot of food. Thanks."

"Anything for you, babe," I said.

She looked up. "What?"

"Nothing."

"I heard you say something."

"Nothing."

She narrowed her eyes at me but kept eating. "This is so good."

I grabbed a sandwich and bit into it. "What are you studying for?"

"To get into a school."

"Which one?"

"I don't know."

I frowned. "Just try to come to the school I'm probably going into."

"Which one's that?"

"Angelwood high."

"What a cliche name," she muttered. "But sure, if it's nice there."

"Do you wanna go on another date?" I asked all of a sudden.

"Mm, when?"

"Today."

"Where?"

"Anywhere you want."

She thought for a moment. "I don't really know."

"Then I have a surprise for you," I said. "After you finish eating."

She laughed but continued eating. "Okay, okay."

After we finished our food, I threw it out while Cathy went to pack her stuff. "You ready, Cath?"

She nodded. "So, where are we going?"

"That's a secret," I teased.

She did a little nose scrunch when she frowned and my heart... my heart was... I couldn't even explain it. She was just so beautiful and her personality, the way she acts, it was so amazing.
