Cory's pov

I hated how things had gone backwards.
Maya didn't even attend History anymore.
She felt too ashamed.
Riley hadn't talked to her either in a year.
I watched how the girl I thought of as my second daughter just grew up without friends.
I know Riley did do something which upset Maya or maybe it is the other way around?
Eventually Riley convinced everyone that if they wanted to know her they write Maya off which broke my heart as I knew Maya was suffering.
But I didn't say anything and there was nothing I ever regretted more.
Especially when I saw how much weight she has lost.
What was the matter with her?

"Friendship," Cory said looking at the kids in his class.
"What is the definition of friendship?"
"Dad don't waste your breathe. I know what this is about," Riley said.
"Why did you guys stop talking? What did Maya do wrong?"
"We had an argument which I couldn't forgive her for and which we decided to end as well as our friendship. But the last part was my decision. Please respect that," Riley said.
