"You're going to get me into trouble, aren't you?" Wilburn said, looking down at the pup who was nibbling on his fingers in mock aggression. Growling back at the pup, he laughed as the pup tried to growl back with the same aggression but failed from how small it was. Gently he scooped the pup up and ruffled its fur. It licked his face before yawning again sweetly.

"Let's get you out of here," Wilburn mused gently, tucking the pup in his arms and ending back to the cave entrance. The pup sniffed in his arms but seemed happy to be carried.

The pup seeming to fall asleep in his arms as he climbed back out of the cave mouth and into the forest beyond. Wrapping the pup in his jacket, Wilburn carried him down to where his camp was. It was only a small place he had put up ready for the night. It was summer and a clear sky so he didn't bother putting up a tent, instead, there was just a fire and a sleeping roll. Softly, he put the little pup down on the sleeping roll before moving to light up a fire as it was getting late.

Not that he needed light to see but the added warmth was appreciated. Despite it being summer the dark energy from the fallen demon felt a cold chill in the air which would take a few nights to dissipate. It was one of the ways to hunt down truly fallen creatures was simply to find areas where it was colder than normal for reasons nothing to do with the weather or climate. Stretching out, Wilburn leant against a log, watching the flames grow.

The pup woke up and scampered over to him, curling in his lap before falling to sleep again. Wilburn looked down at the ball of fur oddly. Wondering how he ended in this situation. He couldn't keep him, that was for certain and soon the pup would be old enough to take human form. Most demon child could take human form from about three years old unless their parents had fed them human meat but Wilburn didn't sense that the small thing had eaten human flesh.

"At least the monster took care of you, Pup," Wilburn mused gently, his fingers still petting the asleep pup who hummed contently in his sleep. He didn't want to phone up the clan. He wasn't entirely sure what their reaction would be to him asking a favour, given how he left things. How he had left things between him and the clan's leader, a mixed canine demon called Rayn.

Wilburn stayed up all night, watching the pup sleep and the fire burn, trying to come up with another solution than having to call Rayn. The last time Rayn had seen him after the 'incident', Rayn had promised to do unspeakable things to him the next time he can his claws on to Wilburn, or possibly into Wilburn. Painful, possibly death-causing things that weren't entirely undeserved after what he had done. Even if he hadn't meant things to go so far.

Shivering at the memory but knowing there was no other clan would accept a half-breed from outside of their families, Wilburn pulled out his phone from his pocket. The phone had a crystal in it to keep it working in the Darklands and was very expensive. As the sun came, Wilburn began typing a number he knew off by heart, almost scared of what was about to happen.

It rang three times before someone picked up. "Will?" a slightly sleepy sounding voice said cautiously. It wasn't Rayn but one of his lovers, a sweet man called David who had been Wilburn's closest friend within the clan. "Is that you?"

"Hey David, is Rayn there? I need a favour," Wilburn admitted softly, trying not to show any real emotion over the phone.
