"MOM" I ran all the way home after being with Maya
"Whoa honey slow down" She chuckled
"Where's dad" I say out of breath
"In his office why-" I didn't listen to the end of what she had, Instead I toke off toward my father's office. I knocked and went in
"Dad I need your help"
"Hey Lucas what do you need" He says looking up from his papers
"So there's this girl..."
"Oh I get it, if you ever need protection you can-" I cut him off
"No dad it's not like that"
"Oh sorry, this girl is"
"It's Maya"
"Oh my daughter how is she" he had a bright smile on. My dad and Maya were always really close because Maya didn't have a dad and he didn't have a daughter
"She's not ok right now" I sigh sitting across from him
"What do you mean is she alright" My dad started to get worried
"Her mom died and she's taking care of her baby sister by herself and than this lady came today saying that she's going to take them away from me" I say in a breath
"From you" My dad says with his eyes rows raised
"Umm" I look around avoiding my dad's gaze
"Ok, so you want them to stay here is what I'm getting" and I nod
"I'll see what I can do"
"Thank you" I get up am just as I was about to go my dad called my name
"Lucas"
"Yea dad"
"Do you like Maya" I shook my head
"No, I'm in love with her" he smiles
"Always knew you did" and I walked out
