Maya's pov
"Come on Kota eat your food" she just gurgles back to me
"Yea your cute" I say with smile. Right then, there was a knock on the door
"Let's go see who's there" I say to Dakota even though she has no idea what I'm saying. I set her down in her play pen and I open the door. Once I open it, I stand in shock on who is there.
"Lucas" I say as a whisper "what are you doing here" I ask getting a little scared
"Uh my mom wanted me to give you this" he pulls out a bag that has different types of foods in it
"Oh ah tell her I said thanks" just then Dakota decided to make her self known by crying. Always wants attention.
"Is that a baby" Lucas raises an eyebrow
"Yea hold on" I run and pick up Dakota, I grab her bottle and when I go back to the door I see that Lucas has invited himself in
"Ok come on in why don't you" I mumble to myself
"What was that" he asks me
"I was talking to the baby" I saw with a fake smile
"You have a daughter" Lucas questions me
"Not exactly" I say feeding her
"What do you mean" he ask sitting cautiously close to me on the couch
"Well she's my sister but since my moms not here anymore, I raise her" I say looking down at her adoringly
"Oh" is all he manages to say
"Not to rude in anything but is there anything else that you need?" I ask him
"Um I was wondering if you'd like to go to the park with me and you can bring..." he trailed off
"Dakota" I finished for him
"Yea, what do you say"
"Why are you being so nice to me, first with the food and now inviting me to the park? Is this because you feel bad for me or something?" I ask with curiosity and with fear that if I go something will be in store for me
"I just want to make it up to you, for being an ass, and for being a bully to you, I just wanted to you to know that I'm sorry" he says with pure sincerity and I want to believe him but after everything he put me through, I just don't know. Against my better judgement and wanting our old friendship back, I agree.
"Ah yea sure" I say slowly and he smiles. I get Dakotas bag and stroller an we are off
