You've Got To Be Kidding

(Jay's POV)

        Nathan was drunk, too. It sucks to think he was probably incoherent through everything but I should have known it was too good to be real. My chest hurt and my eyes burned so I gave into the weakness and cried as I crawled into my bed. What was even worse was me and Nathan share a room. At least he's blacked out and won't hear me cry. Bittersweet isn't it? After a while of more bitter thoughts and tears I drift off to sleep.

        I wake up in a pool of tears against my sticky face. I look at my clock, 3:00 P.M. Slowly I get up and look for clothes. I decide I want to swim and put on my black trunks. I notice Nathan's bed is empty. I take a shower and cry. As I walk out in my towel I hear the door open. Someone was going to see I'd been crying.

        "Hey Jay." Nath says. Shit, of all the people who could see me weak it just had to be Nath. And he saw.

        "Jay, what's wrong?" "You're a drunken bastard!" I snap at him. But it's him and the moment I see him cringe, my heartbreaks even more. I wish I could just forget last night but, that night was unforgettable, one way or another. I begin to apologize but Nathan stops me. Oh shit, what have I done this time.

        "Jay, I wasn't drunk, not even close." he says soothingly. "I just drank a toxic mix of coke vodka and rum." he said wearily. "Oh" was all I could manage to get out. 

        "I remember everything from last night. Now, you can't back out on me, you're the one who started this. You made me feel something special I never thought I would feel." He said with determination. But he had that soft smile that made my insides get all twisted. I couldn't help but laugh.

         "Don't laugh, it's not funny ya jerk." he starts yelling in a high, cracking voice. The one he always uses when I fluster him. He likes me. Nathan Sykes likes me. Nathan Sykes feels something for me. And I couldn't help but smile and giggle.
