"what do you want to do when you grow up? like, what are your plans and stuff?" mina asked, twirling her pink hair around her freshly manicured index. she shuffled her feet into the warm carpet, embarrassed of the truthful reply. "I... I want to move away." she answered. "what?!" mina jumped, lifting her chest from her lying position. "where?! why?!" she continued, confusion in her golden eyes.

"I'm thinking canada. I just want to live a peaceful life, one where I can write my novels and hopefully raise a family."

"wow (y/n), I knew you were boring but sheesh. novels and a family? you're out of your mind."

in a matter of years, this memory would come back to (y/n) as she got on her plane to her knew home.

she looked out of the window, to the plane tracks and far beyond. she could make out which buildings were which, naming every title in her head.

"boring, huh?"

she smiled to herself. if this was boring, then she didn't mind a boring life.

after hours of watching passing cities, editing her works, and uncomfortably napping, she arrived in the ontario airport.

she lugged around her rather large suitcase, searching for the pickup zone. the last thing she needed was to be stuck at the airport for hours on end. to her luck, a kind woman directed her to her desired location. as she did, they had a friendly conversation about (y/n)'s transition to the country.

"thank you so much, ma'am." she thanked, waving her goodbye. "it's no problem, I wish you ease in making canada your home." the employee smiled, waving the (h/c) haired away into her taxi.

"where to ma'am?" the driver asked. "this address please." (y/n) reached forward to the man, showing the said address on the glowing screen of her smartphone. "alright, off we go!" he announced in a playful manner. (y/n) and he had a friendly conversation as well. she learned of a few places she should visit in her new immigration to canada. she told him some fun facts about her own home country.

"thank you sir!" (y/n) expressed. "no problem ma'am. have a wonderful day!" he waved from his drivers seat. "you too." she smiled, turning to the entrance of her apartment complex.

she found her apartment effortlessly. her delicate hands wrapped around the handle of her heavy suitcase, and lifted up the stone steps with little difficulty. when she got to the top, she looked over the edge of the patio. allowing the petrichor air to fill her lungs. she spotted someone standing below her. they looked male. he was staring straight up at her. his glasses reflected the sunlight peering through the hackberry trees. blond hair fell in front of his face as waves do into sand.

the mysterious male quickly looked away and continued his trek to a place unknown to (y/n). she watched him walk away for a few seconds.
