Bang.

Crash.

Boom.

A young girl stumbles through her house in the dead of night and groans unconsciously as she hits and bashes into numerous objects on her mini journey.

She stumbles on the stairs but luckily catches her balance. Even in her sleep she would be able to catch herself from falling on her face, seeing as she's done it many times before.

The girl manoeuvred through the hallways and into another wall. She bumped her nose, but it didn't seem as if it even happened to her; her face looked blank.

She kept walking through the maze of halls and rooms that concluded the building blocks of the house. A fly landed on her nose and she unconsciously, started whacking the air in front of her face with a limp arm. She eventually gave up and continued on her little adventure through the home. The fly fidgeted on her nose, and she felt her eyes begin to water, her nose starts to tickle until finally.

Achoo!

From upstairs a woman woke with to fright from the sudden noise and as soon as she did, she shook her head and removed the covers from over her and snatched her dressing gown off from her dressing table chair and went to investigate.

Meanwhile, the girl was still roaming around the house and held out her arms in front of her to feel the air in front of her face, or maybe, she just wanted to feel like she was a zombie as she walked. Who knows?

The woman was quickly closing in on the girl and was swiftly making her way to where the girl was. She showed no fear for the strange noises that were occurring in her house and the dangers that surrounded this type of situation. It was like it was normal.

The woman reached the room where the girl was and turned on the light to reveal the girl under the full ray of the lights that consumed her small frame. She had her blue and white checked onesie on, her hair was in all kinds of directions, and she was not even awake! The light however, soon changed that.

She groaned at the light that aggravated her brown eyes. She squinted them until they adjusted to the blinding light. She saw that she was in a kitchen and that she was standing in the middle of it. She felt something cold hit against her bare skin, and she shivered at the contact. She saw that the cold came from the open fridge that stood next to her and in her hand was a can of coke.

The woman crossed her arms over her chest. "What do you think you're doing?" She scolded.

The girl shrugged and yawned widely. "I dunno. Why am I in the kitchen?" She asked as she looked around at the kitchen with bewilderment. The woman only just noticed the can of coke in the girl's hands and gasped.

"What are you doing with that?" She shrieked pointing to it in horror.

The girl looked down and did the best thing she could think of at that point in time; Hide it behind her.

The woman didn't look impressed and started tapping her foot on the ground, impatiently waiting for a explanation although she knew what it would be already.

The girl could only try and look innocent as she gazed at the woman who seemed less than happy that this girl was taking her coke.

"Was i doing it again?" The girl asked.

"Yes," The mother sighed irritated. "You even woke me up this time. It's the third time this week. stop doing it or I'll lock you in your room. understand?"

"Yes mum." The girl answered submissively.

"And stop stealing my food and drink!" The mother added as she walked away from her. She knew it wasn't intentional that she did it and that whenever she did do it, she never had control over it. Her sleepwalking became problematic at the start of her teenage years, and now that she was a nineteen-year-old girl, she should have grown out of this by now. She hoped this wouldn't be a lifelong habit for her and for her daughter's sake.

Doctors said it was a restless brain, but her mother did not understand what would cause her daughter to have a 'restless brain'. She certainly did not understand what he meant and therefore, ignored him and his accusations. They had tried every known so-called 'sleepwalking cure' but none of them worked, right now things were getting desperate.

Her mother was beginning to lose hope of her daughter ever loosing this bad habit of hers.

The mother sighed, turning back to her daughter from the doorway of the kitchen. "Darling i know that you can't help it, but it's not good for you."

"What else do you want me to do mum? We have tried everything. face it I'm stuck with being able to sleepwalk, It's not even that bad anyway."

"I won't continue like this. I do not want to have to keep getting up at, " she took the time to glance up at the clock on the backwall. " Three o'clock just to send you back off to bed. For you to do it again later on tonight possibly. "

The girl felt her nose start to itch. She did not know why. "My nose is itchy." She whined and started to scratch it.

"Chiara, please just go back to bed and stay there. In the morning I have something I need to tell you." Her mother said as she rubbed her forehead as if a headache was about to rear.

Her daughter rolled her eyes and started to walk up to her room.

"Oh, and you can think twice about taking that coke with you. " Her mother said sternly, extending her hand for her daughter to place it in her palm.

Her daughter did so but with a huff and turned on her heels to go back to bed, and hopefully stay there.

As she marched up the stairs past her mother, she stayed at the bottom of them and looked up at Chiara as she did so, scrutinising every movement she made. Chiara felt a little uncomfortable with her mum starting intently at the back of her, but she tried her best to push it in the back of her mind.

She looked back to her mother and still felt an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. She was concerned about this as she had never had this feeling about her mother before, but something about her attitude tonight got to Chiara.

She pushed that feeling aside and checked her appearance in the mirror. Her long black hair, reaching the middle if her back, was all tangled in a mess from the restless sleep previously. Her brown eyes blending in with the dark room seeming almost black, her beautiful dark skin was a little on the lighter side but still beautiful and smooth non the less. She quickly fixed her hair and tied it up into a messy bun.

She got herself comfortable in bed and with a rumble in her stomach she tossed and turned not being able to sleep. Hearing the creaking and crunching of her mum's footsteps up to her room, the door closed behind her and the void finally took over Chiara for the last few hours of the early morning.
