Laying on the floor, a bright white light blinded me. I raised my hand trying to shield it from my eyes.
They quickly adjusted to the light, and as I looked up I saw the top of the tunnel had been opened wide, letting sunlight through.
But before I got too excited, I saw the opening was surrounded by people.

All staring right at me.

"It's a girl!" Multiple people started yelling, some pushing each other to get a better look into my box.

I crawled into one of the corners, keeping my hands up to protect myself.
A tall boy jumped into the box, landing right in front of me.
He reached out his hand, clearly indicating me to grab it.

Hesitant, I took his hand, even though his big build and serious demeanour was intimidating.

With his help, I stepped out of the box, feeling sunshine hit my face. After being trapped in a metal elevator for hours, being outside felt amazing.

Yet, the moment didn't last long as I was immediately swarmed by what seemed like a herd of boys.
They surrounded me, whispering to each other. I even started feeling some hands in my hair and on my back. As if they were all around me.

"Get off me!" My voice was raspy from not talking and having thrown up a few hours ago.
I pushed the boys in my path away, sprinting into the open grass area.

"Whoo! Damn, she can run!" the boys cheered behind me.
I sprinted over to a big tree in my path. Extending my arms, I jumped, grabbing a branch and lifting myself up into the tree.

Maybe they can't reach me here.
The sprint had taken what little energy I had, making my breathing deep and heavy.
I stood up on the branch to look at my surroundings.

"Wha..." A chill ran down my spine.

Four massive stone walls encased the area, completely closing it off from the outside. Except for one wall, which was split down the middle, making a huge opening.

My vision started to blur as a tear rolled down my cheek.
I had just escaped one cage only to find myself in a bigger one.

My legs wobbled from weakness, and I sat down on the branch. I curled my knees up to my chin, looking down and hiding my face.

I just want to go home... but I don't even know where it is!
I let out a sob.
Why couldn't I just remember?!
