Chapter 15

Your POV

I clutched my thin sweatshirt tightly, trying to protect myself from the harsh wind. The cold night was practically nipping at my nose.

Dumbass. Didn't even bring a heavier jacket.

"Well I'm sorry bitch but I was more focused on not being turned in to the authorities." I grumbled and rolled my eyes, "What's your name anyway?"

It's Gabe.

"Gabe? What kind of name is Gabe?" I snickered

What kind of name is Y/N?

"It's better than yours Gaby."

Don't call me Gaby.

"What you going to do about it Gab-" I was interrupted by the sound of dirt bikes in the distance

"Alright girls split up and find her!" I heard Emma shout

My eyes widened and I looked around for a hiding place. There wasn't any so I only had one choice-climb a tree. I quickly climbed up a nearby tree and right as I got to the middle I heard dirt bikes approach my area.

"Her footprints seem to end here!" I heard Mia shout to the others

My breath hitched as I saw Amelia right below me. She seemed to be examining my footsteps,

"She may have finally noticed that she was leaving footprints. She probably covered them up." Amelia stated as Mia, Olivia, and Lara came to look at them

Who do they think you are? Einstein? You're not that smart.

"Shut up Gabe." I whispered softly

"Wait did you just hear that?" Lara spoke looking around the area

"No. What did you hear?" Olivia asked her

"I just heard Y/N's voice."

"Really? Then she must be around here somewhere."

"Alright let's split up and look around here. Don't go too far though. We don't want to lose anyone." Mia stated and the others nodded

The four went in different directions and once I was sure they were gone I climbed down. I made sure not to land on any leaves and began to walk away.

What are you doing?!

"Leaving!" I whispered softly

Steal one of their dirt bikes! That's our fastest way out of here!

I looked over my shoulder and I saw Lara's dirt bike.

"That's a pretty good idea Gabey. I think that's the best one you've had tonight!"

I told you not to call me Gabey.

I ignored him and hopped on Lara's dirt bike. Luckily she left the keys in the ignition so I just turned it on. As soon as I started it I heard Lara shout. Before the others could come and stop me I took off. I avoided the multiple branches of trees that tried to smack me in the face. I heard more dirt bikes coming towards me and I started to panic. I steadied the bike as best as I could as it ran over roots, holes, and other things.

We can ditch the bike now. To throw them off before we get into the town. It's only a mile away.

"A mile!? I'm not walking or running all that way!"

Well to bad you're going to have to suck it up.

All of the sudden the brakes locked up, causing me to get thrown off the bike. I hit the dirt with a groan and held my wrist as I landed on it. Luckily it was the broken one, so hopefully the caste did what it was supposed to do-protect my wrist. I got to my feet as the dirt bikes got closer.

Better start running.

"Just shut the fuck up Gabe."

I panted as I finally reached the town. I looked over at the town's sign,

"Ozryn? What kind of name is that?"

I walked into the town and luckily it was still night time so basically no one was in the streets. I walked around and looked at all the lights and shops. I was tempted to steal somethings from some of the shops but I held back my instincts for now.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?"

I turned around to see two men approaching me. I recognized Balalaika's symbol on their jackets.

"Look I don't want to kill two of Balalaika's men. I've already beaten one of you to death."

The man on the right narrowed his eyes at me.

"Then let's just skip the talking and get to fighting shall we?"

The other man on the left charged at me and I quickly took out my knife. He didn't even see it and I side stepped his charge before stabbing him in the side. I ripped it out of him just as I avoided a punch from the other guy. I gave him a punch of my own before stabbing him in the stomach. He let out a scream of pain before I uppercutted him. He fell to the concrete unconscious,

"KO!" I giggled as the other guy stumbled back to his feet

"Y-You bitch." He stuttered

"Do you have a new insult? I've already been called that plenty of times dear." I snickered

He looked like he was going to charge again and I held up my bloody knife.

"I don't think you want to attack me again. Unless you want to end up like your friend here." I motioned to his unconscious friend behind me

He looked between me and his friends body before tapping something on his wrist. I let out a 'tsk' and charged towards him. He was too slow to dodge me and he took my fist full force to his stomach. He let out a gasp and fell to his knees. He groaned in pain and kneeled over as he wrapped his arm around his stomach protectively. I grabbed his hair and yanked his head up so that he was looking at me. I let a twisted smirk appear on my face and let go of his hair. He looked at me confused before I kicked him across the face. I heard a 'crack' as his head was reeled to the left. He fell to the ground again his nose was obviously bleeding. He also had a busted lip and his blood was slowly oozing onto the sidewalk. I kneeled down next to him grabbing his hair and lifting his head up again,

"You wanna tell me what you tapped on your wrist there?" I motioned over to his watch which was now flashing red, "And what it's doing?"

He tried to answer me through short gasps and wheezes but he couldn't get anything out.

"I can tell you what it was doing. It was calling me."

I froze in my spot as I heard Balalaika behind me. I let go of the man's head and turned around.
