Thought you were the Guy

Hello to the goodbyes,
'Cause it was just the beginning,
Of an end.
He said 3 years was what they had
And forever he'd be giving.
He screamed, for wanting her bad
But said, 'It is hard for us to be' and it was sad.

He proudly calls her 'his girl' in the dark
But ashamed to do the same in the park.
He proudly mans up in bed
But he can hardly be a man on set.
He was a blurry facade---
That much she'd give you.

It wasn't exactly a facade to her
But was indeed blurry to see.
It wasn't like she didn't see it
But pretended like she didn't,
For she loved, the feeling that he gave.
Although he had different intentions
She clearly still played pretend.

Never really complained of how he was
And neither did she snap.
She adjusted with however it was
Pretended like it was okay
But deep down, all she ever wanted was a portion of his love.
Something that felt true:
Something that, didn't feel covered up!

She later came to a thought__
Does he love me? Does he not?
Is he real? Or is he not?
Oh! How she wished they were on the same page.
But they were clearly not!
Because he weren't into what she was in.

She thought he was the one
The guy who made her feel,
All the wrongs!
All she wanted was to be his ride or die
But it wasn't like he understood.
They didn't rhyme like they should--
But she tried. At least she did.

He wasn't the 'One', she later understood.
Because if he was, he would have stayed---
No matter what the odds!
Now she's leaving it all behind
By these words she vent to you.
For now she's done being disrespected;
She's done being a side chick, when she could've been the main chick.
