The rest of the drive back was in silence, I guess we were both pretty exhausted, but it wasn't awkward silence, for which I was thankful, silence was perfect with Stiles, I mean, it doesn't build up any sort of anxiety with me or fill me with awkwardness. I leaned my head against the window, listening to the almost inaudible drumming of the rain against the roof of the car. I noticed we were almost home, on my street, the house was dark, which meant mom was asleep. I hoped she hadn't worried about me, I hated when mom worried. She never got angry, and if she ever did, the anger would last a few seconds, before the fury in her eyes would fade as if it were never there, she was laid back in some ways but she was always worried for me, but I loved her for it, the smile reaching her deep sea blue eyes, now wrinkled on the edges, and would always say, "Be careful, Lydia," in a small voice. We only had each other, it was just us two, and I didn't mind.

"We're here, Lydia." His voice snapped me out of my reverie, pulling my attention away from the house as I turned to look at him.

"Oh. Sorry, I zoned out a little." I apologized, it was a habit of mine, one I could never shake off now matter how hard I tried. Allison would joke about how I would escape into my old little world, the labyrinth of my own thoughts.

He smiled, "It's fine." Some people thought my habit was a nuisance and would always urge me to stop, but it happened a lot. Especially, since being a banshee I get black outs and day-dreams, but they are so rare, I barely worry.

"Thanks. For, uh, bringing me home. Thanks a lot, Stiles." I gave a ghost of a smile. I reached for the door and budged it open.

"Good night, Martin." I turned back to grin.

"Good night, Stilinski." I walked on ahead to the door and he only drove off when he saw me getting in.
