"What If Sting forgets to feed them? You know how Kage is with food."

"(Y/N)."

"I mean, Hikari just might break something and Sting will just sweep it under the rug — figuratively and legitimately!"

Rogue took a hold of your hand and squeezed it tight. "My love, if Sting can't take care of them, you can bet Yukino and Minerva will."

Minerva.

You did not want to hear that name coming out of your husbands mouth, but she was a guild mate and you told yourself you didn't need to be afraid of anything.

You breathed in and out, relaxing your shoulders and stretching your neck. "Okay. Okay, I know. I just can't help but worry. I'm hardly ever away from them."

You and Rogue were walking. You got off the train a long time ago and agreed that taking nice walk part of the way would be easier than taking the train all the way there.

You couldn't imagine how many times a day Rogue had to be on a moving vehicle just to help pay bills. The least you could do was compromise transportation with him and walk.

"I should be there just as much as you," Rogue said with a sullen expression. "I keep giving you the burden of staying home constantly when we should be taking turns."

You kiss his cheek, appreciating the fact that he's been thinking about it. "I know you feel bad about being out a lot, but I really don't mind being home with the kids. Sure, I might have some attachment issues, but doesn't any mom?"

Rogue laughs. "I suppose, but they're growing up so fast. Soon enough they're gonna be able to go on jobs with us," There was a pause before Rogue said, "How do you feel about that?"

You shrugged. "I haven't thought about it, but Hikari is getting more skilled with magic."

Rogue perked up. "She is?"

"Definitely. She's mimicking your shadow magic as much as she can. She's doing really good. She can almost attack with shadows too."

Rogue's eyes lit up like a proud father's would. "I guess I should start teaching her."

You nod. "But be careful please. She's already accident prone. Any chance she has to scrape her knees, she'll take it."

You two laugh, really feeling like adults now. Before you had relationship drama and now you had the drama of figuring out when your daughter should start training with her papa.

"What about Kage?" Rogue asked.

You sighed. "Kage's reluctant to use magic. I haven't really seen him take interest in anything but reading."

"That's good. I don't know for sure if I want him fighting against big bad monsters." Rogue said.

You didn't disagree. However, you didn't want to be scared of your son taking an interest in magic. "Are you worried about him? Because of what the doctor said when he was born?"

You've had this talk before. On the day Kage was born and the day he asked what magic his papa used.

"I don't know." Rogue answered. "Maybe?"

The doctor had informed you two that because Kage was so weak, he may not have much capacity for magic. He probably won't be able to use magic like You, Rogue, or Sting can.

When the doctor said that, it was obvious it hit Rogue a little hard. It's been years so maybe Rogue's grown to accept it in some way.

"I mean, maybe the doctors were wrong? They don't know how strong he is now." You said, attempting to lighten Rogue's dow spirits.
