'Today?'

He hummed and stood up to change for the day.

I rushed into the shower and slipped into something warm for our lunch date.

Yes!
Finally he had asked me out.
How could I deny?
Well he didn't call it a date instead he said it in more like a business tone that he needed to attend some lunch.

I flew down the stairs and waited patiently for him.
He cascaded down slowly clad in a black jeans and olive button up shirt.

I kept my window down to feel the wind against my skin.

He still hadn't talked much and I got way too bored. Mist of the time, I was alone at home.
May be I should apply for some job.

We parked against a beach and I was truly awed by its beauty. I hopped out of the car and felt like jumping out of happiness.
I gazed up at him but he had his shades on so I didn't know where he was looking.

I followed him up to some chick restaurant that had a magnificent name 'la veranda'.
Wow.

I took in my surroundings, all green, illuminating my insides.

'This place is amazing!'
I couldn't help but giggle at its beauty.
Why was I giggling by the way?

He took off his shades and looked over my head, gesturing something with his eyes.
I looked in the direction of his gaze and blanched at the sight that was approaching us oh so eagerly.

'Hey!', he chimed down at me and I looked back at my man who was glaring st me to behave well.

'Hi!'
I muttered quietly and slowly stepped behind my man.

I told you!
I hated Ayan with guts.
I mean it's very bad to ogle someone else's wife, right?
He really needed to know rules of meetup.

Both the men shook their hands and moved ahead while I followed them like a lost puppy.
Shit
Pure shit...

I thought it was a date.
My man really knew how to ruin my day.

We sat around at the table for three and not so later our food came. They both talked about something that was way too foreign for while picked at my lunch.

Why couldn't this stupid creature get lost somewhere?
Everytime I look up at them I found him staring at me.
So not needed.

I peeked at my man who seemed quite oblivious of his friend's gawking.

A phone rang amidst our lunch and my oblivious husband stood up.

What the fu**

'I really need to take this.', he said looking at the caller id and was gone with the wind while I just gaped at his broad retreating back.

'So!', Ayan said smiling at me.

I gritted my teeth inwardly at his smile.

'You don't eat much', he said filling my plate and my stomach churned at his audacity.
He was no one to do that.
I could fill my own plate.

'I heard you just had your convocation', he said after sipping on his soda.

'Yeah!'

'So how was it?', he asked anxiously and I recalled the time.

It was quite awful.
I didn't want to remember it.
I had no one to clap for me.
Just some bunch of strangers.

I heard some finger snapping and looked back at Ayan.
He arched one of his brow at me and smiled.

'Well now I'm concluding that you don't talk much too!', he laughed hitting the table and I glanced back to where my man had gone.

'Where is he?'

'He'll be back.', he mumbled drumming his fingers on the table.

'He's a busy man. He has got a lot to do now!', he said nodding his head and I quietly affirmed.

Yeah
He had gotten more busy ever since he hopped over the seat of CEO. And a little more of a smoker too.
How much I wanted to dump all those cigar cases off of the balcony.

'So what's your hobby?', he asked branching his elbows on the table looking at me intently.

'I... umm... I like to cook.'

'Really! That's great.', he said with zeal.
'What can you cook?', he asked.

'Anything you name.'

'Wow! Can you cook Paella?', he asked.

'Yeah! I'm quite good at it.'
I couldn't help but smile at how my only hobby could pique someone's interest.

'I'm really looking forward to have one... so when are you inviting me?', he wiggled his brows.

'Whenever you want...', I mumbled while placing the fork at it's right place.

'What if I want you now?', he asked and  my head jerked up.

'Huh?'
Did I hear him wrong?

'I mean the.. um that.. Paella! What if I want it now?', he brushed his head off and snickered.

He was really very creepy.
I didn't like him at all.

I glanced back again and sighed when I saw my man, still talking on the phone while staring at us, leaning against a pole.

I kept looking at him and few seconds later started walking towards us while pocketing his stupid phone.

I turned back and smiled at Ayan who smiled back with God knows what swimming in his eyes. I averted my gaze and looked down at my plate.

'We must move now!'
I heard my man at my back.

Phew..
That was quite an awkward lunch.
We walked back and waited for Ayan to get in his car first.

'Can we go to the beach?', I asked with puppy eyes but he shook his head.

'Please.'

'Its cold!', he bit and hopped in the car.

We drove back in silence and I again cursed Paul for getting between us.
He still hadn't overcome that day and I still couldn't fathom the fact that he got drunk.

He got over to the patio with his laptop and cigar case fully stacked and I knew it would be empty by the dinner.

I prayed Zuhr  and walked over to him. I sat beside his smoking self and leaned against his arm.

'How did it go?', he asked while typing vigorously.

'Hey I can do that!', I jumped up when I saw him making a presentation on point of sale.

He didn't budge instead contorted his face at my sudden outburst.

'Can I make that?', I asked him but he shook his head.

'Please!'

'No!'

'I can really make that. Look i--'

'Stop nagging my mind!', he snapped cutting me off my speech.

I sat back and looked at his presentation in process. I really knew how to make it.
He just needed to let me in.

'You don't eat much.'

Why would a strange man tend to look after me when all i wanted was him to do that?

'Well now I'm concluding that you dont talk much too.'

Because all I ever wanted was to talk with him.
He's all I've ever wanted.
