Staying up late never was my thing.
And now I was paying for.

'Ms. Ahmed?'
Professor Arnold was a fairly aged man with thick rimmed glasses as his signature. You would recognize him even in the crowd of million because of his weird hairstyle.

'Yes sir.', I jerked up and saw how I was being ogled by every member of the class.

'You can have your sweet dreams after my class.', he shouted and some muffled giggles erupted.

'Sorry', I mumbled and gazed down at my empty notebook.

Sheesh
I hadn't taken any notes today and my class mates were way too selfish to share it with me.

I felt an elbow nudging my sides and that's when I saw a diva winking at me.
She forwarded me her notes and I blanched.

She nodded her head quickly and I copied it.

'You're welcome by the way.'

I was emerging out of the university when I heard someone.
She hopped in front of me and smiled, flailing her straight blonde locks.

Wow

'Ohh I'm sorry. I mean... um thanks', I said and extended my hand.

She took it and pulled me in for a hug.
Ohh my gosh
She was strong.

'I'm Bella.', she said while linking our hands as we strode out of the gates.

Even her name was beautiful.

'Ayla!'

We walked in different directions and she waved.
I waited for my bus with a small smile playing on my lips.

Seems like I've got a friend.

***********
'Bye!', she chimed and bounced towards the elevators.

I closed the door and sighed.
We really cant live alone. Everyone needs a friend in their life.

'Ayla!', Alvina called softly from the kitchen while doing the dishes.

I hopped on the counter and hummed while dangling my legs.

'That girl you brought here.', she said while rinsing her hands.

'She doesn't seem appropriate.', she mumbled and took off her apron.

Huh?

'She's my friend.', I said and rubbed my nose.

'Yeah! But... just.', she stuttered and looked around for words.

'I just don't want you hurt by the end of it.', she said with a small smile.

Little did she know that I've had my share of hurt.

'Come on. Hop off now... I've made ice cream for you.', she sang in her usual light tune.

Ohh wow.

'Really!'
I hopped off and branched on the bar stool.

Ice cream!!

************

I shut down my laptop and opened the notes to get my concepts clear.
Accounting has never been easy on me.

An eerie silence stretched around. A cold gush of wind swirled around the room, flailing the curtains.
I stood up to close the window panes and thumped back on the bed.

What would he be doing?
Would he be thinking about me?

I brushed those stupid thoughts away and concentrated on my studies.
Jotting down the numerical for the fourth time, I re-solved it, but it proved to be one hell of a stupid nuisance.
