'I said, no!' A young girl screamed, hands shaking, as her eyes bellowed in anger.

Smoker took another drag from his cigarette, his lips left ajar as the gas made its way into the atmosphere. 'You dare defy me...'

The bulky male stood up, his eyes piercing daggers into the adolescent's soul. Yet, she dared back down, (eye colour) hues fixated on the beast that had towered over her.

The marines watched from a distance, not a single movement caught in sight. Amused yet frightened at the scene before them, their eyes were fixated on (Your name), the only female lieutenant that could talk back to that man-eating predator.

'You are not cutting down that forest and that' s that! '

The white haired male exhaled, a sigh dressing upon his pale features.' (Your name)..' It was slight, but at the sound of the Marine' s name the (skin colour) skinned female shuddered before gaining back her composure.
'My orders go as followed... that forest will be cut down.'

Searching for words the enraged female turned, cursing under her breath as she walked away from the captain. Her fists lay clutched, bruises marking her palms as anger had gotten the best of her.

Smoker watched, her back turned as she walked away from the scene. He had won, but no sense of justice had passed through his system. Instead, he felt rock hard and empty like a shell.

'Sir..should we go after her?' one of the lower ranking marines asks, his face full of worry towards the irritated lieutenant.

'Leave it.. She'll learn, she can't have everything she wants in this world.'

Pupils hitting towards the plains, (Your name) staggered into the woods, allowing the cool air to decrease her anger. She enjoyed the earthy smell, the whiff of the wet soil after a light drizzle. She enjoyed looking at the green, the bright emerald green, that was complimented by  the sun when summer drifts past. She enjoyed looking at the tall oaks that stood with pride and confidence underneath the blazing blue sky. She enjoyed this place, she enjoyed the forest. It was her happy place.

'Chopper..'

Creeping out of the shadows stood a miniature deer, dwarf like in size compared to a full-grown one but all in all, a reindeer. He was propped up awkwardly, his head bowed, confused about the spring droplets that had slowly fallen onto him.

The adolescent gave a sigh, a small smile pressing onto her mouth as she set sights onto the wonderful creature. She opened her arms, beckoning the animal to come closer, hearing the mammal's hooves 'clop' as he approached the young girl. With one touch, she felt alive again. The argument between her and Smoker all but forgotten. She felt at peace with the creature, she had a bond, a strong bond, one that the captain couldn't even break.

Both (Your Name) and Chopper felt relaxed in each other's company, they both lay at the trunk of a tree, the reindeer's head resting on the girl's thigh. Running her hands through his semi-dirty mane she smiled, remembering the sweet times the two used to spend together. Riding, Fishing, Eating, Playing. You couldn't find one event the duo never did.

She remembered meeting him, seeing a soft gaze stare at her from the bushes. He was a shy calf, the journal of survival barely setting foot into his small brain. Thus, he learnt the human way, he learnt (Your Name)'s way. He respected that and so did she. Fleeing out of the herd due to oddity Chopper was known as an outlaw and so was (Your name) when it came to the Marines. She was different and everybody knew that she was one girl with a rough childhood, picked up of the street and raised by Smoker.

Thinking of Smoker, the young girl's eyes swelled up with tears, her anger subdued and know transforming into sadness. She felt the salty droplets roll, her sniffles becoming higher by the second. Tighter and tighter she gripped Chopper's chocolate fur, allowing him to feel uneasy against the sudden pressure.

Her skin getting hotter, her face getting redder was also decorated with snot and muffles that drowned out the icy breeze.

It was only a few times that Chopper had witnessed the young girl crying, but surely this time he knew it was severe. Twisting his muzzle towards the girl's face, he began to lick the salty water that cascaded down her (skin colour) cheeks. Bumping his head into hers gently, his nostrils flared as he tried to get back the (Your Name) he always had. The happy (Your Name).

Hands reaching towards both sides of his jaw, Chopper huffed, breathing into the teenager's face to gain a better view of the picture of her sadness. He felt each droplet and felt every emotion. His one and only true friend depressed and blue.

The young bull rested his head onto his friend's shoulder, fur touching the fabric that dressed his friend's figure. He felt her warmth, the affection, how close to him she was. They were unable to communicate, but he could feel her feelings through his own. He was special and that special one to (Your Name).

She began to murmur many words, more words than one as she stroked the reindeer's head, fiddling with his antlers in a slow motion.

Sorry....

Sorry....

Sorry.....

Repeatedly those words fell out of her mouth, he wanted to make it stop, it felt uneasy to him. Knocking his head into her chin led the words to a halt, he felt bad but he was aware it was a mantra that didn't sound anywhere near good.

Even though, those thoughts remained in his head, he had still remained curious....

Sorry for what?

A/N

Heya, most people might not like this because Chopper is not actually a cute fluff ball that can talk but an ACTUAL reindeer. This is a modern AU so might definitely not come up to your expectations but this was the only thing that I could see A Chopper X Reader coming out as. I'm not that good at portraying characters in a fantasy realm, so this may have to do . But nonetheless I hope you liked it as I did quite enjoy writing this oneshot.
