Woojin 2018

The two of you met in a KFC in America. After you noticed him having trouble ordering (since he was by himself) you decided to lend a helping hand.

"Can we get a bucket of chicken, mac and cheese, and two cokes?" The cashier told you the total and you handed her your card. She scanned it and handed it back with the receipt. After that you turned to the foreign man and smiled, "It's on me!" He smiled and nodded in understanding, giving you a small thanks in English. The two of you walked to the pick up counter and waited for your food.

The man next to you was tall and had wide shoulders. He wore the biggest smile and a casual outfit that fit him well. "You like chicken?" He asked. He had a very strong Korean dialect making it somewhat hard to understand, still you nodded.

"I like chicken but I love their mac and cheese! It's my favorite! I'm guessing you like chicken a whole lot if you were willing to stay up there and try to order for over twenty minutes now." You couldn't help but giggle.

His eyes widened, "Wow! Your Korean is so good!" In all honesty you didn't even realize your switch from English to Korean half way through your speech.

"Thank you! I've been practicing for about two years now, I plan on moving to Korea in April!"

The boy swept his hair back and kept his eyes wide in shock. "I'm visiting here for another week then going back there! It's a small country so I'm sure I'll see you again." Just then a different man, an employee, brought out your food. The boy in front of you grabbed the chicken bucket and his drink while you grabbed your drink and the mac and cheese. "I never did ask, sorry, what's your name?" You bowed and introduced yourself properly. He did the same.

"Well it was nice meeting you! All of that's yours." You gestured to the chicken he was holding. "This will be all for me! Maybe I'll see you again sometime." With that you left the KFC ready even more so to get to Korea to see that man again, Kim Woojin.

Chan 2010

It was your 8th grade class trip, this year it was to Sydney, Australia and you were very surprised you were able to even attend orientation. You had never thought that in a million years your overprotective parents would let their thirteen year old child fly overseas with her entire year. The trip was planned to last for a week and there would be non stop touring from the time you could get to the hotel to the time you got back on the plane to leave. The Sydney Opera House, the Rocks, the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and the Queen Victoria Building were the big must go to's on the trip along with several other places to visit like the zoo and harbors and other parks in the area. You had done a lot of research and were very excited, to say the least.

The plane ride over was unexpectedly calming to you. Kids from your class were all going crazy once they boarded but you were lucky enough to have a window seat and stared out while you were awake. Most of the flight you did sleep but take off and landing was really cool to watch from where you sat. The sun was just rising when you landed so everyone was feeling somewhat jet lagged and still very tired. Getting off the plane and onto a bus was crazy slow because everyone was freaking out about their bags but by the end of it everyone had their things and were ready to go.

The first day was slow. There was a lot of walking through old museums and to the opera house. By the end of the night everyone passed out as soon as their heads hit their pillows.

Day two was calmer, everyone could still feel the difference in time but slept so much they could barely tell. In the morning the class went to The Rocks Cafe to get breakfast before the busy day. You got to walk through the museum itself before heading to the harbor where everyone got on a big ferry full of people who had jobs to be at and places to see. You got on quickly, running away from the other kids in your class to the front of the boat to sit and look ahead. When you got to the front seating area you couldn't help but pout. Every seat was taken.
