Goodbye

"Mangekyou Sharingan, these eyes are very unique. From the first moment you awaken them, a slow decent into darkness begins. The more you use them, the more it takes its toll." Itachi said.

"What do you mean?" Sasuke asked.

"The kaleidoscope will eventually lose its light." Itachi answered.

"A loss of sight then?" Sasuke asked. "So, that's the price you pay for obtaining the power that controls the nine tails."

Itachi began descending the stairs. "I guess you read the tablets I told you about in the clan's secret meeting place." Itachi said walking towards Sasuke.

"Who the hell... is Madara?" Sasuke asked.

"He's the first man to tame the nine tails with his eyes." I spoke up.

"Yes... he's an immortal man, my accomplice, and my mentor." Itachi continued. "He is also the only man to unravel the final secrets of the Mangekyou Sharingan. That.. is Uchiha Madara." he said.

"The Mangekyou Sharingan's final secret?" Sasuke asked. "The power to tame the nine tails. Is there anything else besides that?" he asked.

"Indeed. There is one more secret, and it is the one of most importance." Itachi said.

"An important secret?" I wondered.

"What is it?" Sasuke asked.

"What is it? Answer me!" Sasuke said.

"It is a story from long ago. A story about the history of the Uchiha. Also, Madara had a brother. A younger brother..." he said. They then once again stopped moving.

Itachi slowly turned to me. "How much can you see?" I asked walking towards him, and then stopping between him and Sasuke.

"I'm standing right in front of you, but you're just a blur." he said softly. I reached up and moved his hair from his eyes.

"... you don't plan on living through this... do you?" I asked softly.

"no..... I'm sorry." he said smiling at me.

I said nothing and hugged him, "I hate you..." I mumbled hugging him tighter.

"I know. I love you, (n/n)." he said softly, petting my head and I walked back to the place I was standing in, before they began fighting again.

"The Madara of today is nothing more than a pathetic shell of his former self. He's no longer a man who can hold the title of 'strongest' among the Uchiha." Itachi said. Itachi raised up one of his hands. "The one person who can surpass him and achieve true immortality is me! And now, I am finally capable of obtaining power far surpassing that of Madara! Sasuke! You will become my new light! You are my spare!!" Itachi shouted like a maniac, "For decades, the Uchiha killed their friends to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan, and killed their siblings to make its power permanent! Our clan was forever tainted because they couldn't stop flaunting their own powers!"
"From the moment you were born an Uchiha, you were destined to a life drenched in blood! Now face me, little brother!! Once I kill you and become far from this wretched clan's destiny, I will finally be transformed! Things like limits and capacities will be forever shattered! You and I are each other's spare! This is the bond between the brothers of the Uchiha!" Itachi yelled.

Sasuke undid his cloak and threw it at me, and I caught it. "I'm not a coat rack here.." I thought as I folded up Sasuke's cloak and hugged it against my chest.

It was now raining, storming badly, caused by Sasuke. They were now fighting it out on top of this hideout.

I was cautious from coming up earlier because of the black fire from Itachi's Amaterasu, and Sasuke's lightning. When it was quiet and the rain stopped, I then came up from within the hideout. I landed on a piece of rubble. I turned to the left and Sasuke was on his knees, to my right, Itachi was faced down in the ground. "Was this what you saw in your vision of my death?" I heard Itachi's voice and I saw him getting up onto his knees. I turned to Sasuke and he was using his curse mark powers. I turned to Itachi, blood was dripping from both corners of his mouth. I didn't want to look at him. It was too painful.

"Truly you have become stronger... Sasuke." Itachi said to him. "Now, let me show you the last card in my hand." Itachi said. I looked at his red Susano'o. The sky cleared and it became sunny again. I watched as the Susano'o grew something like flesh, then armor on top of that. I turned to Sauske and he seemed to be in pain. "Sasuke?" I called his name, concerned that he may have pushed himself too far.

"(Y/n)." Itachi called and I turned to him and he shook his head. Then suddenly something white burst out of Sasuke's arm. "My god!" I jumped back seeing the multi headed white serpent and it made it's way towards Itachi. (Sorry if someone is offended with the way I used god)

Itachi's Susano'o cut the head off the snakes, all until only one remained. From that head, emerged Oroshimaru. "Disgusting." I said as he puked a sword out his throat. Itachi stabbed his word through Orochimaru, and he seemed to be getting sucked into the sword. "The blade of Totsuka. Anything it pierces gets trapped in a illusion like trance for all of eternity." I heard Itachi say. Sasuke was revealed under all that snake monstrosity. I then heard coughing and Itachi was coughing up blood. I jumped down to a lower height and Sasuke's Sharingan was deactivated. I noticed the curse mark was also gone. "Now, your eyes are mine. I'll be sure to take them from you slowly." Itachi said, but he then gripped his chest in pain, and coughed up more blood. He fell to his knees, and his Susano'o faltered, the armor drawing back.

"Itachi!" I jumped off the rock and ran to him. He suddenly grabbed me and I heard an explosion behind me. I turned to see his Susano'o made a shield to protect us, probably from an explosive kunai that Sasuke threw at us. ".. You're ill.." I said softly.

"I really can't hide anything from you. This necklace, is yours." he chuckled softly, then pushed me away and I landed on the rocks behind him. I turned as he began a staggering walk towards Sasuke. Sasuke threw more things at him, but his Susano'o protected him.

"Those are my eyes.... mine.." I heard Itachi as he walked towards Sasuke, with his hands reached outwards. Sauske tried using his sword, but failed. Sasuke was against a wall, and I watched as Itachi fell forward, hitting his head against the wall, and fell to the ground.

"I.. ITachi!" I ran towards them and knelt down beside Itachi, and checked for a pulse and found none. I bit my lip and cried  quietly while tightly gripping his hands. "You dumbass!" I thought. I then felt something hit and slide off my back. I turned and it was Sasuke, who was laying on the ground as well.

"Sasuke!" I placed a hand on his neck and felt his pulse. I placed a hand over his chest and began healing his injuries. After healing all his major injuries, I sat between the 2 brothers.

I looked down at Itachi and he seemed to be looking at me, even though I knew he was dead. I saw on his lips was a small smile.

"Rest in Peace Itachi... Goodbye..." I whispered. The rain washed away the blood that was on his face. I placed a hand on his cheek, feeling how cold he had become. "I'm sorry, I couldn't share your burden." I whispered and my hands drifted towards his necklace.

I slowly unlatched it and looked at the pendant I was wearing. The 2 crests of the Uchiha and Uzumaki were on it. I took it off. and used a fire technique to meld the 2 objects together. I wiped away the burnt areas and I smiled seeing the center circle of his necklace. One side showed Uchiha, then I turned the necklace over to show Uzumaki. I clipped the necklace on and stood up to find Itachi's cloak.

I found his Akatsuki cloak torn and buried under some rocks. I managed to get it out, and went back to lay the cloak over his body. I then used Sasuke's cloak, wrapping it around myself, and picking up Sasuke's upper body. I lay him against my own body, pulling his cloak closer to cover his head, while petting his matted wet hair.

"Why did I have to love idiots.." I thought, as the rain kept pelting down on us.
