Sasuke x Reader Sequel

Gaara

We were awaiting our first mission now as Team Kakashi, but I can't help but think of that bird I saw earlier today. I recognized him as Takamaru, the Sand Village's fastest flyer. They wouldn't have sent him if it wasn't important, they even called for a member from the cipher corps, they are only needed to decipher coded messages of the highest importance, and report only to the Hokage. "I hope Gaara's okay.." I thought not able to get over that ominous feeling.

"Well, anyway, your mission, guard a gold bullion transport convoy." Tsunade said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"That's totally a C-rank mission!" Naruto complained.

"We all knew he was going to react like this." I thought seeing everyone's facial expressions.

"Geez, old man third was much more understanding..." I heard Naruto mumble and I hit him on his head.

"Behave." I warned him.

"Stupid sis." he said and I hit him again.

"Th-there's trouble... fifth Hokage!" I turned and saw it was the girl from earlier from the Cipher corps. "We just received emergency message from the sand..." she said and gave her a paper.

"Please... not Gaara..." I clenched my fists tightly.

"This is what we have deciphered..." she gave the Hokage a paper.

"What?!" Tsunade said and I stepped up.

"Is it about Gaara?!" I immediately asked and Tsunade looked at me and Naruto, then nodded.

"Hey, what happened?" Naruto asked.

"The Kazekage of the sand has been taken by members of the organization called the Akatsuki." Tsunade said. "We have more information concerning the Akatsuki. So the Hidden Sand has officially requested for our help." She said looking at us.

"Lady Tsunade, don't tell me, you're going to have Team Kakashi-!?" Shizune asked her.

"It's an emergency, I can't waste time on personal selection. Besides we have people here who's actually encountered the Akatsuki." She said looking at me and Kakashi. "I will now issue Team Kakashi a new mission. Go to the Hidden Sand, immediately. Find out what's going on and report back to the leaf. After that, you'll respond to their orders and provide them with back-up!" she ordered.

I turned around and left to quickly get ready. I flashed to my house and quickly grabbed everything, locked my doors and made my way to the gates. Sakura arrived next, then Kakashi then Naruto. Before we set off, Jiraiya had to talk to Naruto.

We were on our way to the Hidden Sand. Naruto and I were ahead of the other 2. "Both of you slow down. Don't lose your cool." Kakashi said and I sighed, knowing he was right. I watched the ground below us, and caught sight of someone familiar, Temari!

"Temari!" Sakura called out, noticing her as well.

We all landed behind her, Kakashi quickly explained the situation to her. "It'll take us 2 and a half days to get there from here, let's hurry." I said impatiently.

"Right." Temari nodded and we continued going at full speed.

It quickly became night, I looked ahead at Naruto. I sped up my pace so I was next to him. I reached over and held his shoulder, squeezing it tightly before letting go. "Naruto, I told you not disrupt the units-" Naruto cut Sakura off.

"I don't like it! Even I know why they're after people like Gaara and me... You know it already, don't you, Sakura?" Naruto asked her. He didn't need to hear her answer, "It's because... I have the nine-tailed fox spirit sealed inside me..." Naruto said. "Gaara, and I both.... have monsters inside us... That's what they're after! That's what I don't like! They only see us as monsters! I don't like their selfish way of viewing us!" Naruto said. "Everything about us was the same... and he, fought by himself... a lot more than me..." he said sadly.

~flashback~

"Nee-chan, am I a monster?" Gaara looked up at me, squeezing his stuffed bear tightly.

"Of course not, you, are a cute little panda bear, and I love you." I smiled crouching down to his height, running my hand through his hair, making him smile.

"Can you play with me?" He asked me, holding a small box of toys.

"Of course. I'll always be here to play games with you." I said, taking the box from him and laid out the toys so we could decide what to play.

"Will you leave me?" He asked me, as I hugged him, trying to lull him to sleep

"I won't leave you, I promise panda bear." I said softly, holding back a yawn of my own.

"Please, don't leave me alone.." Gaara held my hand in his.

"I won't. My little panda bear, don't cry..." I picked him up in my arms, taking him along with me out of the house to buy groceries.

"Nee-Chan, I love you!" Gaara gave me a small sand sculpture.

"I love you too, Panda bear." I placed the sculpture on the table and hugged him.

~flashback end~

"Naruto, (Y/n). You've met him before, haven't you? Uchiha Itachi. And he's after you." I heard Sakura as she looked at us.

"...No comment.." I said and pushed myself ahead of them so I didn't have to hear about Itachi, and their opinions on him. I know.. or I knew him. I know how much he loves the village, his clan, his parents, his brother, he wouldn't do what he did for no reason. Orochimaru tried killing Itachi once when he was Akatsuki, and brought Sasuke to his side because he saw more potential in Sasuke then he did in Itachi. He wants to take over Sasuke's body as his new host. I recently found all this out in a letter, that Itachi had left me. I burned it immediately after.

We had stopped for the night to get some rest. We each took turns keeping watch, and I was the last one, so I was able to watch the sun rise. I was stretching as everyone began to wake up. I looked at Naruto, who stood up and climbed up a tree. "One more day.." I thought and turned to Kakashi as the others began packing their things.

"Let's go!" Kakashi said and we continued our way.
