For once you mother decided to ignore the swear word that had fallen from your month, since they had just delivered some large news to you. After you were excused to your bedroom, you immediately flopped onto the bed, thoughts swamping around in your head.

You hadn't bothered to turn the lights on, the curtains were already drawn close. It was simply you in the darkness, thoughts swarming in your head as your heart felt a strange confusion. Wasn't this good? You weren't needed for the host club... you had only joined to make sure Haruhi was okay anyways.

Things could go back to normal, right? You wouldn't need to worry about the twins anymore and they wouldn't need to stress over you. You wouldn't go to some fancy school that needed you to maintain an impossible A+ average, whilst doing extracurriculars.

Yes you'd miss Tyler, and Nao... and even Seiko, Rina and Oka despite the fact they all had become increasingly busy.

The bedsheets seemed more and more welcoming as you had curled into their warmth, chest growing tighter. Oddly through this endeavor there was one person swarming around in your head, so you decided to give in a little.

Your hand fished around in the sheets as you found your phone and began to look through your contacts for a specific number, eyes beginning to pool with tears.

Once you had finally found the number, you hit call, and pressed the device to your ear.

"...hello?" A groggy voice answer, the raspiness in his voice coming through. Your voice caught in your throat for a moment. "It's kind of late... wait," you heard a rustling, like he was moving. "Y/N? Are you alright?"

"It's only 10pm." You corrected him, "so you must be an early sleeper... and I've had better days."

"Do I need to come get you?" There was a slight alarm in Hikaru's voice that made you worry even more, but you felt horrible in the soft pang in your heart that only confirmed your growing feelings.

"I'm fine, just lay down."

"It sounds like you were about to cry." His voice was lower, almost falling into a whisper. You were surprised he wasn't teasing you yet. "Wanna talk about it?" He asked, as gentle as possible.

"Not really... I guess I just needed to hear your voice is all."

"Wow how cheesy," He teased, and the familiarity of it almost made you laugh.

You two stayed on the phone, making light conversation though he yawned a few times revealing how tired he truly was. It was nice to hear his soothing voice as he cracked jokes, but was still making sure you were okay.

Maybe everything would be okay, after all.

Later that night your dad came back into the room, once you were done talking to Hikaru on the phone. He explained the plan- after you were done with midterms, coming up in two weeks, packing would ensue and you'd return to the high school you had been in once you were back home.

You could only nod as you clutched your phone tighter in your hand.

It took all the strength in your body not to laugh as you, Kaoru and Renge sat in the closet he had shown you before, over the make shift 'plan' board Karou had prepared.
