Faith escorted him out and when she came back to the truck Amanda and Stephanie were waiting for her eagerly.

"You still insist that he is not flirting with you?" Stephanie asked quizzically.

"No comment." Faith said slyly as she went back to work. By twenty five minutes to midnight, the number of customers had dwindled again so Amanda decided to close shop. They all said their good nights before both of her workmates made their way home. Faith hang around for ten minutes before Michael showed up.

"Had we not agreed to meet at around midnight?"she asked grateful that he had showed up early.

"It is around midnight." he said as he helped her up and led the way.

"I got you a scarf to help with the cold." he said as he handed her the scarf. Truly he was a considerate guy, she thankfully wrapped the scarf around her neck it did help with the cold. She thanked him as they walked down the street to a coffee house that was opened. Robusta was a tiny cafeteria that was opened twenty four hours a day. It was a very popular stop for those traveling overnight thus it was always packed and they served the best coffee and cocktails.

"I'll have a chai latte." Michael said as soon as the waiter came to wait on them.

"I will have a double caramel macchiato." Faith said as she looked at her waiter and gave him an appreciative smile.

Michael looked at Faith and smiled, she looked a bit exhausted but that was to be expected. It was past midnight but truth be told he wanted to stay and talk with her for all eternity. There was something about her that drew him in deeper and deeper every time they met. "Apart from saving the world what do you like?"

"Food, everything that entails food entices me." she said as she checked her phone. Her brother was phoning her so she politely excused herself to take the call.

"What is it Arnold? I thought you were out of town." she asked as calm as she could. Her brother had ran away from their parent's house because they had refused to grant him permission to go for a trip with his friends.

"My money is running out send me some." he slurred and Faith deduced that he was drunk already.

"I'll send it in the morning." she said sternly. He was still a teenager and that was a phase every teen passed, she remembered how she had been stubborn when she was his age and she softened a bit.

"Just be careful, don't do anything harmful." she said as she ended the call. A smile escaped her lips as she recalled how she had been a rebel and wild in her teen days. She made her way back to their table and sat down.

"Sorry for the interruption." she said as she took a sip of her coffee.

"I hope everything is well." Michael said and the tone of concern did not escape her. First was the scarf then this. He was truly a considerate human being and she liked that. He was scoring major points with her and that made her like him the more.

"Everything is fine just a bit of family drama." she said as she sipped her coffee quietly.

"You were telling me about food if my memory serves me right." he said as he eyed her intently.

"As you know I'm a chef so my first love is food then maybe music and definitely wine makes an appearance somewhere in between and books, I love reading." she said enthusiastically. "What of you?"she asked curiously for she had this need of unveiling every layer of his being.

"Now what do I say, hmm, let me see. I think I love cars and colossal buildings that have the potential of being transformed into classy restaurants."
