Who Are You?

Chapter 3

Una made herself comfortable at the end of the bed, circling a couple times before laying down.

I sighed and checked my phone, seeing it was already one in the morning.

I went into the clock app, setting an alarm for seven a.m. I plugged my phone into the charger, setting it on the table.

I turned the lamp off, turned over, and drifted off into sleep.

7 AM.

I groaned and rolled over, aimlessly trying to find the snooze button on my phone.

After two minutes of not finding it, I got up and grabbed my phone, finally hitting the snooze button and falling back down into the blankets and sheets.

Just as I was about to drift back to sleep, Una starts licking my face.

I giggled and got up. I opened my door and went down stairs to the kitchen, grabbing Una's food and scooping some into her bowl before going to the cabinet and pulling out my own breakfast.

Grabbing the oatmeal from the cabinet, I made my way towards the stove.

I grabbed a pot hanging from the rack above and put it on the stove.

Walking to the fridge, I opened it to grab the milk. Just as I touched the milk carton, I hear Gabe yell from up stairs.

"SALEM! THERES A SPIDER IN MY BATHROOM!"

I slammed the fridge door shut, running up the stairs and barged into his room. I ran past his bed and ran into the bathroom where he was.

"Where is it?!" I yelled holding up one of his shoes. Gabe was seated on top of the counter in only his boxers.

"It's over there! In the corner by the trash can." He said pointing towards the trash.

I walked around the the toilet and got on top of the bathtub. I slowly grabbed the trash can, flinging it by the door, and screamed when I saw the spider.

I instantly paused and got down from the tub. I started laughing and threw the shoe in his room.

"Why are you laughing? You're supposed to be killing it!" He argued.

I shook my head and bent down, picking up the 'spider' and showed him.

"Don't bring that thing near me! Salem I'm serious. I'll punch you!" Gabe said backing away. I laughed harder and opened my palm.

"Look you freaking idiot!" I threw the 'spider' on the counter and he jumped off, stopping to turn around and stare at the counter.

I witnessed his face turn from horrified to embarrassment faster than I could snap. He laughed at himself and hugged me.

"I really thought I was going to die from a ball of hair." He face palmed himself.

I chuckled and grabbed the hair, throwing it into the trash.

"Next time you think it's a spider, make sure it's alive first." I said walking out of his bathroom and back down stairs.

Finishing up breakfast, I made a bowl for me and Gabe. Adding the last strawberry to Gabe's bowl, I grabbed mine and made my way to the table.

Gabe came down the stairs and joined me at the table.

"What time do you have work today?" I asked checking the time on my phone.

"Not till five. They want me in before the dinner rush." He said with his mouth full. I nodded my head and continued to eat my breakfast.

"I'm heading into dance today, teaching a group of teens new choreography for the dance competition in a few weeks."

He nodded and I got up. I walked to the kitchen, putting my bowl in the sink and grabbing two water bottles.

I stuffed them into my bag, and walked up the stairs and changed into some spandex shorts, a sports bra and a loose cropped shirt.

I tied my hair into a high ponytail and shoved my feet into my pink Nike's.

Walking back down stairs. I ran to Gabe, giving him a quick kiss on the head, got my bag, and went to the front door.

"Love you bub! I'll see you later. Don't forget to put Una in her kennel!"

I grabbed my keys and made my way down stairs to my car. Once in my car, I plugged my phone in and started my way to my awaiting dance class.
