Chapter Nine
Mya Anderson
Downtown LA — Three Days Later

I walked out of my last meeting for the day excited as hell about what's to come for my store. All of my vendors are ready to start their shipments and I'm days away from closing on a location. Everything is falling into place so quickly and it's an amazing feeling.

As I walked to my car, my phone started ringing. I looked at the screen, then answered. "Hello."

"What's up beautiful?" Chris voice filled my ears.

"Hey, how are you?"

"I'm good how are you?"

"Great."

"You busy?" He asked.

"No I'm just leaving my last meeting for the day. Had to talk to a few of my vendors."

"Oh okay....you got plans for the rest of the day?"

"No. I planned on cooking and relaxing."

"Feel like having some company?"

"Mm, Maybe."

"I need a yes or no. I could help you cook."

"You can cook?" I asked while climbing into the car.

"I can do a little something."

"Mmhm."

"So can I come or are you about to be on that same bullshit you always on."

I laughed. "You can come. I'll be home in about an hour, I have to stop at the grocery store."

"This LA baby. We order groceries."

"Lazy asses. I'm good, I don't want to turn into one of you bougie people. It might take forever for the stuff to come and I don't have time for that."

"Alright suit yourself. Grab some whipped cream and fruit roll ups."

"Why? That's a weird mix."

"Oh trust me it's not. Don't forget it."

"Okay. See you later."

"See you."

I hung up the phone then sent him my address and started my car then headed to Whatever grocery store that I could find that didn't sell nothing but organic shit. I guess I'm headed to the hood.
