"Fire!" a yell of alert rings out into the moonlight morning. The sound catches Hiccup's attention and causes him to walk towards the open window station as he waits for the metal to heat up.

A group made up of three boys and three girls, around the same age as Hiccup, stand a few feet in front of the blacksmith's with pails in their hands. They all move as swiftly as possible to fill their buckets with the needed water to extinguish the house fire that the dragons had started from within the star-covered sky. Hiccup didn't pay much attention to the entire group in front of him though, his green eyes were set on a certain person: a rather charming girl. Her hair was a deep copper color of red that was effectively braided to lay over her right shoulder, elegantly swaying with every movement she made, and the length went down to the middle of her back when she allowed the strands out of the everyday style.

The girl moves her arms back before throwing them forward and launching a stream of water onto the burning building in front of herself, trying to save as much of the structure as possible with the help of the other five teens that were doing the same thing around her. She had always left Hiccup in something of a lovestruck state as he admired her from afar with a dreamlike expression written on his face. But, his state doesn't last long after the group runs off to help with additional essential tasks that needed attending too, as Gobber quickly moves Hiccup away from the window and back into the working building of the blacksmith shed.

"Oh, come on," Hiccup whines in annoyance. "Let me out, please? I need to make my mark!"

"Oh, you've made plenty of marks. All in the wrong places," Gobber informs him as he lets go of him.

"Please, two minutes. I'll kill a dragon. My life will get infinitely better," Hiccup says as he animatedly talks while moving his arms around. "I might even get a date," he states with no one other than the redheaded girl crossing his mind.

"You can't lift a hammer, you can't swing an ax, you can't even throw one of these!" Gobber lifts a bola from the ground as another Viking quickly rips the rope and stone weapon from his hands before throwing it at a dragon within the sky and bringing it to the ground with a hard crash.

"Okay, fine, but this will throw it for me," Hiccup informs him as he walks over to a wooden contraption and sets his hand on it proudly. . .only for it to malfunction and release a bola at the wrong moment, hitting another Viking in the head, and making the man yelp in pain.

"See, now this right here is what I'm talking about!" Gobber shouts in exasperation.

"Mild calibration issue--" Hiccup tries to defend himself and his machine but he is quickly cut off.

"No. Hiccup," Gobber pauses as he walks forward. "if you ever want to get out there to fight dragons, you need to stop all. . .this," he motions to the boy's entire body with his hand and prosthetic hook.

"But, you just pointed to all of me."

"Yes! That's it. Stop being all of you!"

"Oh," Hiccup drags out his word as he narrows his eyes at the man standing in front of him.

"Oh, yes," Gobber nods mockingly.

"You sir, are playing a dangerous game," Hiccup lifts his shoulders confidently. "Keeping this much, raw. . .Viking-ness. . .contained? There will be consequences!" he yells in an unconvincing warning.

"I'll take my chances," Gobber says, unphased by his news. "Sword. Sharpen. Now," he orders as he tosses a heavy sword to the boy in front of him. Hiccup groans in annoyance as he struggles to catch the object, but sighs in defeat, and walks over to the sharpening stone that was spinning rapidly as he gets back to work.
