She winked at me.
.
Evangeline saw this and gave her a strange look.
"Ok Whisper, what is going on?"
.
Whisper shook her head.
"What do you mean? There is nothing going on."
.
Evangeline was, most definitely, not convinced. She walked slowly toward her.
"Spill it kiddo. I can see that you and your Daddy are up to something."
.
"Mommy, seriously. It is not like you to be so suspicious.
Why ever would you suspect Father and I to be up to something?"
.
Evangeline laughed.
"Okay. Now I know something is going on.
Out with it."
.
Whisper looked up to the ceiling.
"Just remembered Mommy. I left something in the oven."
She disappeared.
.
"Whisper? Oh, Whisper?"
.
"Be back later Mommy."
.
Bobby looked at Jessie. "I just wish we knew what the hell was going on, half the time."
.
Jessie just laughed. "No you don't."
She turned her attention back to Evangeline.
"So? Your family hiding something?"
.
"I kinda think so. Whisper just left to check on something she had cooking in the oven."
.
"What's wrong with that?" Bobby wondered.
"Maybe she forgot about it or something."
.
The two women just shook their heads.
.
Jessie slapped Bobby playfully in the shoulder.
.
"What was that for?"
.
Jessie laughed.
"Just because I love you. And you are so naive."
.
I was standing in the far corner of the studio.
.
Evangeline started walking toward me.
"Ok mister, what is going on?" she asked, a strange look in her eyes.
.
"On? On what, sweetie?
Nothing. Nothing is on. Nothing at..."
I started walking in the opposite direction.
"Why would you say something is going on.
Bobby? Do you think something is going on?"
