Sand brown curls sat in a halo on the imposing Alpha that was staring intently at me. His chiseled jaw ticked in anticipation as I took in a deep breath to steady myself. Fucking hell he was gorgeous, I'm not going to even try denying that. He was draped in a snug black suit that followed the strong muscles of his tall frame and his golden skin, so similar to my own, seemed to glow under the lights. And his scent...goddess help me...it was something I could get lost in and by the looks of it already had got lost in.

"Um..." I started, clearing my throat, "Nice to meet you?"

Silver irises widened in surprise and then slowly started to ebb into disbelief and if I wasn't mistaken, anger. Before I could react, he was in front of me, his arms secured around my waist and his eyes swirling black.

"Nice to meet you?" he mocked, seething, "you've hidden from me for the past seven years and now you appear out of nowhere and all you can say is nice to meet you! "

Oh boy he did not just use that tone on me. I narrowed my amethyst gaze into a menacing glare, "I wasn't exactly in a rush to find a mate and now I perfectly understand why."

Don't be a bitch to mate! Violet whined, trying to get control but I held her down firmly. She can come out to play later.

My so called mate flinched slightly in pain and I knew my words had stung. Knowing that I'd caused him even the slightest of pains made my chest tighten and I suddenly found myself feeling bad. No no Willow! He was a jerk and he deserved it! Don't let the bond tell you what to do!

I pushed him back, causing him to release me and stumble a little, "I don't give a shit if you're my mate or not, you do not enter my space bubble unless I ask you to. Entender?"

"But you're my mate!" he snarled, lunging at me again but I swerved out of the way.

"Oh I know that dipshit! But it doesn't mean a thing to me!" I snarled back. He made a grab for me again and I slipped away. We were playing a dangerous game here, with him lunging and me swerving and we'd attracted a crowd. I could sense them around me but right now most of my focus was on the infuriating male trying to grab me. Goddess what was wrong with him?! I'm not some pocession for him to go all caveman on. I was an Alpha for goddess's sake and so was he. Alpha Wolfsbane if my memory served right. He was the neighboring Alpha that I'd never met. And thank goddess for that. I mean all good looks aside, he was turning out to be a jackass.

Alpha Wolfsbane POV

Why was she running? For the love of Selene why was that infuriating woman running?! I kept chasing the curtain of black curls and flash of violet irises as she moved around the room dodging my hold.

Capture mate! Get to her you slow piece of shit! What are you doing she's right there!! Raagen kept barking consistently, being the little bitch he was.

Shut the fuck up Raagen! I'm trying! I snarled before pushing more wolves out of my way as I went after my goddess given.

The moment my eyes had landed on her, I knew I was done for. Her glowing violet irises had seized me, covered by a few loose strands of her thick curtain of back air. Her golden skin glowed and that goddess-forsaken dress flowed over her supple curves that seemed to invite my touch like a magnet. And then she went ahead and opened that pretty mouth of hers. Selene knows the fury I felt at my mate and the Moonclaw pack that had been hiding her from me. I knew of the rumored beauty but held no interest, as the only thing that previously interested me was a way to secure the rest of America under my control. They had refused countless meetings with my pack saying that they were still recovering from past incidents. I could have met her seven years ago! She could have been my wife right now and the mother of my pups! Cursing everything under the moon's light I refocused my attention on my escaping mate.
