"Eliza, he's a loyalist, father is a patriot. He's fighting for the other side! Do you truly think he will approve of this, do you?"

"We'll elope!" Eliza suggested

"You say it like it's easy, 'Liza..." she said

"It is, I will meet with him every Sunday, he'll fall in love with me, we'll run away and get married, we'll have 12 beautiful children, and we'll grow old together, and—" Eliza started to ramble

"Eliza. Let's meet him first. Alright?"

"Alright...oh, there's also a surprise for you, Angie! I forgot to mention." she suddenly realized

"Oh?" Angelica asked

"Hello, mon chèri." A male voice joined in

Alexander Hamilton stood leant up against Eliza's door frame

"Alexander? Alexander! What are you doing here, mon chère?"

Angelica ran into Alexander's arms and he spun her around the room, the same way he did a few chapters ago

"General Washington let me go home early to visit you all." Alexander explained

Eliza looked away, a pang of sadness hitting her suddenly

"Oh, and Eliza?" Alexander asked

Eliza turns around, hopeful, "Yes, Alexander?"

"May I speak with you please? Alone?"

"Of course, I'll be back, Angelica." Eliza said. She seemed composed on the outside, but on the inside, a whirl wind of emotions took up her thoughts. She loved Samuel, but she still held small feelings for Alexander

He took her into a secluded hall of the Schuyler mansion

"Eliza, I shall get straight to the point. I want to marry Angelica. I'm in love with her, but I'm aware of your feelings for me."

Eliza gasped

"Y-You know? You know everything?" Eliza panicked

"Yes. I don't want us to never see each other again, so I want to tell you that I wish to remain friends. Send letters back and forth, talk, have fun. As friends. I don't wish to lose you over something that won't matter in a few years." Alexander held Eliza's hands

"Something that won't matter?" Eliza thought

"You're right, I suppose. But how did you know?" Eliza asked him

Alexander had a look of panic on his face

"I had a feeling." He said

"Oh. Well, I suggest you ask father. If you get rejected, please don't take it personally, father has always been a bit more of a serious man." She warned him

"Alright, thank you Eliza. For everything. You truly are an incredible woman." Alexander told her in admiration

"Thank you, may you always be satisfied."

Alexander and Eliza has returned and found Angelica sitting on the bed reading Common Sense by Thomas Paine.

"Angelica, walk with me will you love?" Alexander outstretched his hand to her

"Absolutely." Angelica agreed

The two walked all the way down to the garden. It was still winter, so a blanket of snow covered the bushes and trees. The water was frozen in the fountain and the winter flowers were covered in snowflakes.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Angelica asked rhetorically

"Yes, you are indeed." Alexander said

She looked at him and then looked away with a blush on her face

Alexander grabbed her chin with his hand and locked his eyes with hers.

"Angelica, I have not known you long. But I know you are the one for me. You are stunningly beautiful, match my intelligence, and believe in the same things I do. I cannot imagine a world where you do not live, for it is too torturous. My dearest Angelica, I am in love with you." Alexander held her hand and bent down one knee. He pulled out a pastel pink, velvet box and opened. A gold, sizable ring sat there, shining in the winter's light

Angelica held a gasp. She was so happy, she was getting what she wanted at last.

"Which is why I ask you, Angelica Schuyler, to become Angelica Hamilton. Or Angelica Schuyler-Hamilton. Whichever you prefer. I don't know which one you—"

Alexander is cut off by Angelica jumping into his arms on the floor

"Oh shut it you. I will marry you." Angelica had tears if joy in her eyes

"Oh Angelica, thank God..." Alexander held her, even though he was cold from the snow melting into his jacket

Eliza watched from a window, picturing her and Samuel Seabury. But she still felt hurt at the scene

She didn't know why it affected her so much, it just did

The reason?

In another life, it was the same spot Alexander proposed to her, with a pastel blue box and Angelica had Eliza's place by the window
